Legacy
P.T.E. Order Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

There will never be enough time
To say what I need to
To do what I have to
To feel what I need to feel
I sit here with my eyes torn out
I stand here with my lips sewn shut
But I still feel the tension rise
Blinded to the truth
I try to escape outside
Even though there is no way out
I try to escape outside
Even though there is no way out
I can't resist the urge
To find a purpose to commit to
Find me by the river
With a pen in my hand
Covered in blood as the ink runs dry
Paint a portrait of serenity
Mark it up for the legacy to sell
Find me by the river with a pen in my hand
Writing me into my own private hell

A start to see I need to survive
But we're out of time

Overall Meaning

In the first verse of "Legacy" by P.T.E. Order, the lyrics convey a sense of urgency and limited opportunity. The singer recognizes that there is never enough time to communicate everything they want to say, to accomplish all they need to do, and to experience the emotions they long for. This feeling of time slipping away is further emphasized by the imagery of the singer sitting with their eyes torn out and standing with their lips sewn shut. These physical impairments symbolize a lack of perception and voice, preventing them from fully engaging with their surroundings.

Despite feeling trapped and disconnected from reality, the tension within the singer continues to rise. They are "blinded to the truth" and attempt to escape their circumstances, even though they know there is no actual way out. This could represent a desire to break free from the confines of their own thoughts and limitations, seeking a sense of liberation or enlightenment.

The second verse introduces the concept of finding a purpose or commitment, represented by the singer being located by a river with a pen in their hand. The river symbolizes the flow of life and constant change, while the pen signifies the act of creation and self-expression. However, this search for purpose is not without its consequences. The blood on the pen and the ink running dry suggest that the singer's journey towards finding meaning in their life involves sacrifice and struggle. The act of painting a portrait of serenity is a metaphor for crafting an idealized vision of tranquility, which is then "marked up" to be sold as one's legacy to the world.

The final lines of the song express an acknowledgment that time is running out. The singer realizes the need to survive and make the most of their limited time. The phrase "we're out of time" suggests that there is a collective urgency or shared realization among those involved in the song. This could imply a broader commentary on the fleeting nature of existence and the importance of making our mark before it's too late.

Overall, "Legacy" explores the themes of the passage of time, the search for purpose, and the tension between personal fulfillment and external expectations. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of an individual trying to find meaning amidst constraints and limitations, grappling with their own sense of identity and the desire to leave a lasting impact on the world.

You my friend are amazing 1:34 is all it takes. Straight to the point and short/sweet. Liked and subbed.

Wow I just finished the story and had no idea you could have an open hood that didn't hug your face. Although I often do like some of the scarves so it wasn't a total loss but man cool to know that happens if you don't wear one. Edit. Can you go under the collections game menu scroll to appearances and look at additional content. I'm showing 4 question mark items. I have the dark arts pack and as far as I know all you get is the robes, two hats, mask, gloves, scarf, and the fancy shirt outfit with vest. I know you get a thestral too but that wouldn't be under outfits sections. So I'm confused. Does this appear for anyone or are you supposed to unlock extra stuff from the dark arts battle arena? I haven't actually used it yet so I have no idea.

@OD91MJ

Couldn’t figure this out so I searched it up and found this. Slapping my forehead that it was this easy.
I love this system. All about the fashion. I got these sweet Kraken robes that fit my eccentric wizard play style.

Thank you. Also the tutorial is way too long. I have been doing side stuff in between and probably made it longer than it needs to be.

@Jaybi_Haider

I wanted to ask, is the deluxe edition really worth it? Is that battle arena actually something special or can you just skip it altogether? Similarly, are those dark spells only available through the deluxe edition? Or can you get them in game as well?

@RoyLevan

It depends, the outfit is cool I suppose but there’s plenty of other awesome cosmetics out there. The Battle Arena is pretty awesome but completely optional and has no major impact on the overall game, and as far as I can see most if not all dark spells are still accesible through the main game. I’d recommended it if you really want to go the extra mile with this game but if you’re gonna do a single, casual playthrough and leave it at that, it’s not worth it

@WhySoSeriousGM

For 10 dollars I’d say it’s worth it plus you can always upgrade to the specials version down the road

@Wesley-ey7cj

@WhySoSeriousGM how can you upgrade?

@hailme1

@Wesley Buy it as DLC through whichever digital store you have the game on (ie, PS Store, Xbox Store, Steam, etc). It's $20, right now, but included if you buy the Deluxe version of the game ($69.99 USD).

@frenchy6143

Great video. I was going crazy not finding the skins

@cozydkvideos2818

Thanks man I could get my dark arts to work but it’s a skin not an actual rob like the others thanks
