Heal
PIP MILLETT Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I'm just tryna heal, yes, I know I'm gonna make a difference
I just wanna love and get on with my luck and
Make a difference
It's been pretty rough, what a road to walk down
I know, I know, I know, I know
It's been pretty rough, I know, I know

I find it hard to
Speak even when I'm spoken to
I wanna do better than
Me, I wanna be open, too
And I bet my money on it
I'm feelin' pretty confident
When I put the work in
Damn, I know I'm hurtin'
I got to breathe

I'm gonna get a-fixin' me up
Said, I'm gonna get active
You know I'm gonna get a-fixin' me up
I'm gonna get active
I read another book, I'm writin' every feeling down
And I'm talkin', it's not just to myself now
I'm tryin' with that shit, you know I like it
Even when I'm sad, but hope I got it, yeah

Pretty baby girl, we know you cry
Pretty baby girl, I know you're tryin' hard
Call you "baby girl" when you're vulnerable
Pretty baby girl, you're not alone
And you own your feelings
Baby, baby, look, I think you're growin' up

I'm gonna get a-fixin' me up
Yeah, I'm gonna get active
You know I'm gonna get a-fixin' me up
I'm gonna get active
I read another book, I'm writin' every feeling down
And I'm talkin', it's not just to myself now
I'm tryin' with that shit, you know I like it
Even when I'm sad, but hope I got it, yeah

Ooh yeah
Ooh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Hey yeah, hey yeah yeah
Hey yeah, hey yeah yeah yeah

I'm gonna get a-fixin' me up
Yeah, I'm gonna get active
You know I'm gonna get a-fixin' me up
I'm gonna get active
I read another book, I'm writin' every feeling down
And I'm talkin', it's not just to myself now

I'm tryin' with that shit, you know I like it
Even when I'm sad, but hope I got it, yeah

Struggling to speak even when spoken to opened up a childhood wound of limited expression. Healing this part is hard because I keep reminding myself my thoughts and feelings matter. Expression is okay and I'm allowed to be vocal when I'm hurt. Finding a voice is difficult when you've been told to be quiet almost all your life. Thank you for this song of healing.

You couldn't have said it better, this is also a very large challenge for me atm and it's nice to know someone else out there feels it too😊💕

This is no coincidence, I have healed actually these past two years and I feel amazing generally but today I had an epiphany. I realised that I indeed was shut down and that my feelings and boundaries weren't acknowledged and it hurts! I have never ever heard this song before, it popped up and as it started playing I read this comment and started to cry. Wishing you all the best ✨🦋❤️

I came on YouTube to find something while laying in bed at 2:30a.m. on healing for a book I've started so many times but hadn't finished and this song was the right at the top of my notifications. The universe knows exactly where to place you when you're in need...I saw the title and tears filled my eyes...as I begin listening I couldn't stop crying... I'm on a healing journey and I thank you for writing this song. As well as the universe for putting it in my path tonight... I'm a new fan...bout to go find your other music and listen your voice is beautiful
