Originally accompanied only by pianist Dawson Kerch, his efforts were revitalized with the instrumental talents of Lehigh Valley mainstays Ben Lovell and Felix Wheatfield, who aided in fully realizing his vision of a world where pop could be just a bit more honest.
Now making their home in eastern Pennsylvania, Plüm seeks to marry emo with insight in a way seldom seen outside of the early works of Panic! At the Disco or Fall Out Boy. The core of Kresge’s songwriting is variety, often daring arrangements, and just giving it the old college try (ironic considering none of the current members ever fully attended college).
The outfit’s most recent release, alt0252, is a far cry from the simplified acoustics of their previous work. Preceded by blazing EDM single "Karma Sutra" and the Imagine Dragons-styled "Once More (feat. Courtney Calle)," this left-field outing retools the Plüm formula to appeal to fans of underground electronic, while still standing by the more progressive elements that set their songs apart in the first place.
The originals’ magic is not forgotten either - in spite of Kerch’s departure, surprise piano ballad "The Secret" closes out the six-track EP with some of the group’s quaintest yet most meaningful lyricism to date.
Help Me
PLÜM Lyrics

I'm hitting the bottom and feeling lonesome
High, high, low, low
The city's full of souls
The problems no one knows
The days are passing by,
And everyone wants to survive (wants to survive)
The city's full of souls
And our problems will grow
The days are dragging by
And everyone wants to see the light (I want to see the light)
Help me to find out how, when, or why (hey yeah)
H-help me, help me, h-help me, help me,
I'm hitting the bottom and feeling lonesome
High, high, low, low
H-help me, help me, oh, h-help me,(oh, help me)
I'm going under
Isn't there someone (high, high, low, low)
We should just pass on by
Ignore his pleas and cries
We should all dress alike
Model behavior's what they like (it's what they like)
What they want and need to keep them whole (keep them whole)
We should just drown ourselves in junk and sweet cocktails
We should all act alike
Uniform behavior's what they like (it's what they like)
Help me to find out how to break the mold and break their hold
So, baby (baby), lay your head
On my shoulder and wait
There's so much hate today
H-help me, help me, oh, h-help me,(oh, help me)
I'm going under
Isn't there someone(high, high, low, low)
(Hey yeah, help me, ha!)
The song "Help Me" by PLÜM explores the feeling of being lost, lonely and stuck in a world full of people. The repetition of "Help me" throughout the song is a cry for assistance, for someone to connect with and for someone to understand the struggles of the individual. The lyrics describe the struggle of feeling like there is no one to turn to and that the world is going on without acknowledging the inner turmoil that someone might be feeling.
The lyrics also touch on the idea of conformity and the pressure that society puts on individuals to behave in a certain way. The line "We should all act alike, Uniform behavior's what they like" highlights the idea that society values people who fit into a mold and behave in a predictable manner. This internal struggle of wanting to fit in and wanting to be understood is a common theme throughout the song.
Overall, "Help Me" is a powerful plea for compassion and understanding. The lyrics and the melody of the song are haunting and reflect the pain and confusion felt by the singer. The song is a reminder that even in a world full of people, it is often the most difficult to find a true connection with someone.
