Never
POiNT.OF.PRESENCE Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

To suddenly wake up
Realizing we have lost
The core of our being
Things that made us humane
The values we tend to uphold
Never forget how it began
Not with murdering millions
But with supremacy, hate speech
And persecution
To the point where it took
The worst shape possible
A trail of blood in the mud
Tracks strewn with numbered bodies
Silenced with a single shot
Here is no God
Solely dark streams of ashes
Complete utter despair
Creeping
I feel it creeping
Creeping
Like it is under our skin
Creeping
Still creeping
Like a sickness that destroys us from within
All hope is gone
Tearing the hair off their head
Gold from their mouth
The kids from their womb
They are the living dead
Waiting to move on
Thousands and thousands
Marching to the place where
The sky burns red
This is where it ends
The world is gone
Even though we are still here
There is nothing left for us
No words to express the contempt
No beauty, no significance
It all died
Shivering

In its mother's
Final grasp

Overall Meaning

The song "Never" by POiNT.OF.PRESENCE is a haunting reflection on the horrors of genocide and the loss of humanity that can occur when people embrace hate and persecution. The lyrics evoke a sense of deep despair, as the singer describes waking up to the realization that the values that once gave their life meaning have been lost. The song uses vivid imagery to paint a picture of the atrocities committed during a genocide, with references to trails of blood, numbered bodies, and the desperate struggle of the living dead to find hope.

The core message of the song is that it is never too late to change course and embrace the values that make us compassionate, caring human beings. The singer urges us to remember how it all began and to reject the hate speech and supremacy that led to the genocide in the first place. While the song recognizes that there is no easy way back from the abyss of atrocity and despair, it also suggests that there is still hope for us to rebuild a better world, even in the face of overwhelming darkness.

Overall, "Never" is a powerful and thought-provoking song that challenges us to confront the worst aspects of our nature while also searching for ways to rediscover the humanity that is at the core of our being.

I live on a hill on the outskirts of a small town. Through the kitchen window, I watch the beautiful sunset and the constantly changing clouds. And I always feel joy and peace inside me, and it's simple and free.

Super

Lovely. I crave quiet. There is almost constant airplanes, cars, buses and helicopter noise outside my windows.

@Soul-yx9if

Can I come and live with you? 🙂

I think the challenge is to feel joy and peace in the nois of the town, everywhere stones, house, a big appartement behind my little garden that keeps my sight on clouds and a sunset away. To feel inside the peace dispite the surroundings where you live is important. Greetings from the very crowded Netherlands.

@@acgschouwenaarsagree, that’s the biggest challenge
