In 2007, the band had already produced three 12" EPs (Number One, Sunset Blvd, Hot Lips) on Dolores Records in Sweden. The following year, Pacific! released their full-length debut, Reveries on February 27. All of the releases from the album feature artwork by Stephane Manel. The members consider the band to be a “studio” band, but they do tour occasionally.
Reviews from the Swedish press have been reported to describe the music produced by the duo, "as if a pair of flying shoes got a recording contract" and "as if Brian Wilson sang on the tram to Saltholmen to the tunes of Air".
Recently picked up by Alan Braxe’s renowned label "Vulture Music", Pacific!’s retro-futurist identity has met its match. Their sophomore LP, Narcissus draws on conceptual inspiration from the classic Greek myth in its story of unrequited love, unspoken truth and self-effacing emotion, yet all the while retaining the debonair signature sound that has already earned so many followers.

Nothing can go wrong
No mather what you take you will never be you
If you follow the rules
Can't you see that you are not the only one
Break your, break your social system
dont you give it up to change it all
as if it is was called in years of joy
whish you understood you are really free
No matter what you take, you never be you
if you follow the rules,
cant you see that you are not the only one
dont you give it up too change it all
cant you see that you are not the only one
Dont you give it up to change it all
The song "Break Your Social System" by Pacific! is a powerful commentary on the societal pressures and constraints that individuals experience on a daily basis. The opening lines "When you really by yourself, nothing can go wrong" point out that when one is alone, there is no other force pushing them to conform to societal norms. However, the following lines "No matter what you take you will never be you, if you follow the rules" highlight that society's expectations can make it difficult for individuals to truly embody and express their authentic selves.
The lyrics "see you at the club, holding on to your own life, as if it is was called in years of joy, wish you understood you are really free" touch on the ways in which individuals may seek to escape societal pressures by engaging in seemingly liberating activities such as going to the club, but ultimately remain bound by social conventions. The repetition of the phrase "don't you give it up to change it all" in the chorus serves as a rallying cry for listeners to reject societal expectations and instead push for change and personal authenticity.
Overall, "Break Your Social System" encourages listeners to embrace their true selves and reject societal pressures, and serves as a reminder that we are not alone in this struggle.
