Father Rossi is based in São Paulo city, where he was born and studied. He preaches at the Santuário do Terço Bizantino to enormous and enthusiastic crowds, and has promoted the use of the so-called byzantine rosary for praying. One of his masses, celebrated at soccer stadium, had more than 70,000 attendees.
Father Rossi has been very important for the Catholic Charismatic Renewal movement in the Catholic Church in Brazil (the largest number of faithful in the world), which has lost in the last decades a significant number of adherents to the protestant evangelic churches. By adopting some of the charismatic features of these churches, Father Rossi and his acolytes have been able to win back or at least to retain a part of his brethren. Traditional Catholics in Brazil, however, do not always approve of these changes.

Invocamos o teu poder
Invocamos a tua presenзa no meio de nуs
Invocamos o teu nome
Iinvocamos o teu poder
Invocamos a tua presenзa no meio de nуs
Manifesta senhor a tua forзa
Manifesta senhor neste lugar
O teu grande amor que tudo pode curar
Manifesta senhor o teu poder
Com prodнgios, milagres, sinais
Manifesta senhor neste lugar
O teu grande amor que tudo pode curar
The lyrics to Padre Marcelo Rossi's song "Invocamos" is a plea for the presence and power of God among the people singing the song. The repetition of "Invocamos o teu nome", meaning "we invoke your name," is a way of calling out to God to be present and visible in their lives. The metaphorical language of "Manifesta senhor o teu poder," or "show your power," suggests a desire for God's strength to make itself known and felt by those singing the song.
The song speaks of the healing power of God's love, as evidenced in the lines "O teu grande amor que tudo pode curar," translating to "Your great love that can heal everything." The song's tone is hopeful, with a sense of reverence and devotion accompanying the plea for God's presence to be felt. The use of repetition in the lyrics creates a meditative effect, encouraging the listener to focus on the intention behind the song.
