Blue
Palast Orchester mit Max Raabe Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Yo listen up here's a story
About a little guy that lives in a blue world
And all day and all night and everything he sees
Is just blue like him inside and outside
Blue his house with a blue little window
And a blue corvette
And everything is blue for him and hisself
And everybody around
Cos he ain't got nobody to listen to

I'm blue da ba dee da ba die...

I have a blue house with a blue window.
Blue is the colour of all that I wear.
Blue are the streets and all the trees are too.
I have a girlfriend and she is so blue.
Blue are the people here that walk around,
Blue like my corvette, it's standing outside.
Blue are the words I say and what I think.
Blue are the feelings that live inside me.

I'm blue da ba dee da ba die...

Inside and outside blue his house
With the blue little window and a blue corvette
And everything is blue for him and hisself
And everybody around cause he aint got
Nobody to listen to

I'm blue da ba dee da ba die...

I'm blue (if I was green I would die)

Overall Meaning

The song "Blue" by Palast Orchester mit Max Raabe tells a story about a little guy who lives in a blue world. Everything in his life is blue, from his house and clothes to the streets and trees around him. The lyrics suggest that the singer lives a solitary life, as he has nobody to listen to. The phrase "da ba dee da ba die" is repeated throughout the song, serving as a sort of catchphrase or chorus.

Some interpret the song as a commentary on the feelings of loneliness and isolation that can come with living in a society that values conformity. The singer's blue world can be seen as a metaphor for the stifling effects of societal expectations, which can result in individuals feeling trapped and alone. The phrase "if I was green I would die" suggests that the singer is aware of his own otherness and feels that he would not be accepted or valued if he were different.

Max Raabe's interesting version of Eiffel 65's "Blue" with Kingdom Hearts.

Please forgive my experiment. It can't help being what it is. ^^

@KalicoKat09

this is leaps and bounds better than the original song
