He founded the Palast Orchester in 1986, while he studied at the Berlin University of the Arts from 1988 to 1995 as a baritone opera singer. The career of him and his orchestra began with a Schlager entitled "Kein Schwein ruft mich an" ("nobody calls me", 1992), a pop song in 1920es style, and the film "Der bewegte Mann" in 1994.
He writes original music and film music, as well as sometimes takes over roles in operas. Max Raabe is also known for his covers of well known modern pop songs in a 1920s-1930s band style. These covers include Britney Spears's "Oops!... I Did It Again" and the Gloria Jones' "Tainted Love". Many people discover the band via their pop covers, and go on to be fans of their original music.
In the year 2005 he had his first concert in New York City's Carnegie Hall.
He performed at Marilyn Manson's wedding on December 3, 2005.

Huhu... das sie einen mega tolle Stimme haben muss ich ja nicht erwähnen! Ich wüsste gern ob sie auch Lieder von RAMMSTEIN oder etwas härter von EISREGEN singen würden (Ich weiss sie können es aber dürfen...)! Schön in der Zukunft auch mal soetwas zu hören!
