My Love
Pamela Means Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Warm thoughts of sun streaming
Curling in your soft places
What an envious path light traces
My love my love
My love my love
Slight movement of time passing
Sun races moon everlasting
It's your face my joy reflects
It's your face my joy reflects
My love my love
My love my love
Twilight blue road
How my tongue froze
Soft words deep red
Flowers on your step
My love my love
My love my love
In these lyrics, Pamela Means is describing her deep affection for someone. The first line, "Under God's gray ceiling," sets a somber tone, but then she shifts to more positive imagery with "Warm thoughts of sun streaming / Curling in your soft places." This could refer to a physical location where they shared tender moments, or it could be a metaphor for the warmth and comfort she feels when she's with this person. She acknowledges the passage of time with "Slight movement of time passing / Sun races moon everlasting," but ultimately it's the love she has for this person that truly sets her heart ablaze. She describes this feeling as "Comets [that] blaze in my chest," and notes that it's their face that makes her feel joyful.
