Nga na bungi nzela : I'm lost ("Me, I've lost the way")
Po bo tikaki nga mosika: Because you left me far behind
Yango na komaki se mitelengano: That's why I've been wandering aimlessly
Koko lakisa nga nzela: Grandpa, show me the way
Ndege nini nga baninga, na koluka nzela ya bomoyi: Somebody please tell me how I can find the way to life
Bato ya mokili mabe: People are so cruel
Ba boyi na zwa lobiki: They don't want me to be saved

Hook
Take me by the hand, show me the way I can go
Take me by the hand, show me the way

Mbotama ya mwana na tongo: A child is born in the morning
Oyo e komi tango ya kosakana: Now it's time to go and play outside
Butu e yinda, sango ya mawa: Later that evening came bad news
Mboka mobimba e kolela: The whole village is weeping

Hook
Take me by the hand, show me the way I can go
Take me by the hand, show me the way
