Tomorrow Never Knows
Parker Junior Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And float downstream
It is not dying
It is not dying
Lay down all thought
Surrender to the void
It is shining
That you may see
The meaning of within
It is being
It is being
That love is all
And love is everyone
It is knowing
It is knowing
That ignorance and hate
May mourn the dead
It is believing
It is believing
But listen to the
Color of your dreams
It is not living
It is not living
Or play the game
Existence to the end
Of the beginning
Of the beginning
Of the beginning
Of the beginning
Of the beginning
Of the beginning
Of the beginning
The lyrics to "Tomorrow Never Knows" by Parker Junior seem to encourage the listener to let go of their thoughts and fears, and embrace the unknown. The opening lines "Turn off your mind, relax and float downstream, it is not dying, it is not dying" suggest a need to become open to new experiences and ideas.
The line "Surrender to the void, it is shining, it is shining" is a reference to the idea of facing the unknown with hope and optimism, even when it seems dark and unknowable. This is followed by a call to look within oneself to find the meaning of life, and to recognize that love is the ultimate truth. The song ends on a repetition of the phrase "Of the beginning" suggesting that life is an endless cycle of beginnings and endings, and that one should embrace this reality with courage and curiosity.
Overall, "Tomorrow Never Knows" encourages the listener to let go of their fears of the unknown, and to embrace the endless possibilities that lie ahead. It calls on the listener to find meaning within themselves, to recognize the power of love, and to celebrate the mysteries of life.

I'm not going to make any assumptions here, but I do want to clarify something. You are aware that this is actually originally a Beatles song, right?
@BubbaZen10
THEY brought this to my attention as well. I love this song, and hearing different takes on it. This one is cool.
@CrAcKu
Yeahhh.... same reason i'm here!

The Chemical Brothers played this version live, which is what he's talking about.

Well, I will confess that I did NOT know originally that it was a Beatles song until I did some digging after hearing this intro to their live show. It's now one of my fave Beatles tunes as well. Last year, the Lennon Claypool delirium played here in Salt Lake and did that cover. A super psychedelic washed out version, sung by Sean himself. Pretty amazing.
