He subsequently released PartyNextDoor Two and PNDColours in 2014 and PartyNextDoor 3 in 2016. He has also seen success as a songwriter, having penned "Work", which was released on Rihanna's album Anti and peaked at number-one on the Billboard Hot 100 and become one of the most successful songs of the year, along with "Wild Thoughts" which peaked at number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Jahron Anthony Brathwaite was born to a Jamaican mother and a Trinidadian father in Mississauga, Ontario. He was inspired by the music his father played to him when he was younger such as Jodeci, Boyz II Men, Blackstreet and 112.
2007–2014: Career beginnings and debut album
Having made electronic-infused R&B under his real name Jahron Brathwaite [Jahron B], he signed a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell as a songwriter, under the name PartyNextDoor, at age 18.[7][failed verification] His first mixtape, PartyNextDoor, was released to the iTunes Store on July 1, 2013.[8] It entered on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart at number six with sales of 2,000 copies[9] and peaked at number 34 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart for the week of July 20, 2013.[10] He performed background vocals on "Own It" and "Come Thru" from Drake's third studio album, Nothing Was the Same.[11]
His debut studio album PartyNextDoor Two was released on July 30, 2014. The record featured singles like "Thirsty", "FWU", "East Liberty" and the Billboard charted "Recognize", featuring Drake. Later that year, on December 3, 2014, PartyNextDoor released the four-track EP titled PNDColours, with the follow-up COLOURS 2, released in 2017.[12] In 2015, he produced three songs on Drake's If You're Reading This It's Too Late: "Legend", "Preach" and "Wednesday Night Interlude".[7]
2016–present: PartyNextDoor 3, Partymobile and Partypack
PartyNextDoor earned his first number-one song as a songwriter when on January 27, 2016, Rihanna released the lead single "Work" from her eighth studio album, Anti.[13][14] The song maintained its spot at number-one on the Billboard Hot 100 for nine consecutive weeks. He also penned the song "Sex with Me" on the same album.[2] On March 25, 2016, PartyNextDoor released "Come and See Me", which features fellow artist Drake, from his upcoming second studio album, PartyNextDoor 3 (also known as P3). A music video directed by affiliate and collaborator Adrian Martinez and featuring appearances by Kylie Jenner, Big Sean, and Jhené Aiko was released on Snapchat on June 23, 2016.[15] On June 15, 2016, Jeremih called into Real 92.3 LA to announce a joint album with PartyNextDoor called Late Night Party. On July 2, 2016, he released another single, "Like That", featuring Jeremih and Lil Wayne, on OVO Sound radio.[16] On July 21, 2016, PartyNextDoor announced the release date for his second studio album PartyNextDoor 3 for August 12, 2016, and released "Not Nice", the record's second single.[17]
He and Jeremih toured in 2016 and had plans to release a joint project.[18]
On June 4, 2017, PartyNextDoor released Colours 2 without any prior announcement. A short film for the EP was released on June 12, 2017.[citation needed]
On September 29, 2017, he released an EP titled Seven Days, which included guest appearances from Halsey and Rick Ross.
After a lead artist hiatus PartyNextDoor returned in December 2019 with two singles "The News" and "Loyal", with the latter featuring Drake. They served as the lead singles of his album Partymobile which he tweeted would be released in February.[19] The album was eventually released on March 27, 2020, following delays.[20]
On October 15, 2020, Party surprise-announced the release of Partypack, a seven-song EP containing previously unreleased songs like the 2014 song "Persian Rugs". The EP was released the following day.[21]
On January 29, 2021, Party released his 2014 EP, Colours, to streaming services for the first time. It includes four extra tracks that were previously released as Colours 2 in 2017.

And my nigga G. Ry
I say
Fuck all my bitches old friends (yeah, yeah)
Y'all let that girl fuck anybody (no, oh, yeah, yeah)
She out here catchin' every body (body)
Told her not to lean on anybody
It's gon' be so hard to claim back that body when I want it, whoa-oh-oh, oh-oh (yeah, yeah)
Yeah, I was to take her out the game
Who's to fuckin' blame? What's my fuckin' name?
Yeah (PARTY) y'all was her model roles (ooh) only let her do wrongs (ooh)
On my name
I hate when a cute girl see a bad bitch
And try to get the bad bitch to do average shit, yeah
And on my name
Hate when a bad bitch can act real dumb
Every time she throw a little tantrum
She wanna fuck another nigga in vain, oh
On my name
I can speak about it, real out loud
'Cause I done fucked these bitches wearing these other rappers niggas chains, I don't tell you
I'm the H-N-I-C
I'm not from Spellman, I ain't got to tell you what that mean
And I can sit right here, all out like the Source Awards
And then these niggas come and show me love (show me love)
But bitches wet like Fiji when Big P step in the club (club)
Bitches when they see me, all they greet me, show me love
I'm with bitches wearin' VVs, flawless, they don't fuck with scrubs, yeah
But I just need my shawty back, yeah, yeah
Richer than I ever was
And when I call, pick up, don't let your friends answer, those bitches broke
Fuck all my bitches old friends (fuck her old friends, yeah, yeah)
Y'all let that girl fuck anybody (yeah, yeah)
She out here catchin' every body (yeah)
Told her not to lean on anybody
Told her not to be seen with anybody
It's gon' be so hard to claim back that body when I want it, whoa-oh-oh, oh-oh (yeah, yeah)
Yeah, I wants to take her out the game (I'm supposed to take her)
Who's to fuckin' blame? (Take her) What's my fuckin' name?
Yeah (it's PARTY) y'all was her model role (ooh) only let her do wrong (ooh)
On my name, fuck the fame
You knew what I was all about, Manny
I tell you that I loved that girl
I was in, I was out, speakin' candid (speakin' candid)
And your common sense seem to vanish, oh
I always knew I had a bad bitch and everybody's tryna bag it (oh-whoa, ooh-whoa, oh)
But you gave it away, girl, and you made a mistake
And I'm living with it now (now)
Gotta explain it to the kids like my business
No it ain't the time or the place to start trippin'
Yeah, but fuck your friends and all (fuck your, fuck your friends)
Fuck all my bitches old friends (yeah, yeah)
Y'all let that girl fuck anybody (y'all let that girl fuck, yeah, yeah)
She out here catchin' every body
Told her not to lean on anybody
Told her not to be seen with anybody
It's gon' be so hard to claim back that body when I want it (when I want it)
whoa-oh-oh, oh-oh (yeah, yeah)
Yeah, I want to take her out the game (I'm supposed to take her out the hood)
Who's to fuckin' blame? (Whatcha) What's my fuckin' name? (Party)
(It's your fault because)
Y'all was her model role, only let her do wrong (y'all let her do wrong on my name)
Yeah
Oh-oh, yeah
In PARTYNEXTDOOR's song "Her Old Friends," he expresses his frustration with his partner's previous friends and their impact on her behavior. He begins by condemning them for allowing her to engage in promiscuous behavior, lamenting how difficult it will be to regain ownership of her body. He then acknowledges his role in wanting to "take her out the game," implying that the other men she has been with are somehow inferior to him. The chorus repeats his disdain for her old friends, urging her to distance herself from them in order to maintain their relationship.
Throughout the song, PARTYNEXTDOOR's lyrics reveal an underlying theme of possessiveness and jealousy. He seems to view his partner as an object to be claimed, rather than an independent individual with agency. This is underscored by his resentment of her old friends, who he sees as a threat to his control over her. In the end, though, he recognizes that his insecurities are his own problem, stating that he will have to explain the situation to his children and acknowledging that he is ultimately responsible for his own actions.
Overall, "Her Old Friends" is a song that explores complex issues of power, control, and agency within romantic relationships. Through its provocative lyrics, PARTYNEXTDOOR forces listeners to confront uncomfortable truths about possessiveness and jealousy, and to consider the ways in which these feelings can impact the way we view and treat our partners.
