2007–2014: Career beginnings and debut album
Having made electronic-infused R&B under his real name Jahron Brathwaite [Jahron B], he signed a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell as a songwriter, under the name PartyNextDoor, at age 18.[7][failed verification] His first mixtape, PartyNextDoor, was released to the iTunes Store on July 1, 2013.[8] It entered on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart at number six with sales of 2,000 copies[9] and peaked at number 34 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart for the week of July 20, 2013.[10] He performed background vocals on "Own It" and "Come Thru" from Drake's third studio album, Nothing Was the Same.[11]
His debut studio album PartyNextDoor Two was released on July 30, 2014. The record featured singles like "Thirsty", "FWU", "East Liberty" and the Billboard charted "Recognize", featuring Drake. Later that year, on December 3, 2014, PartyNextDoor released the four-track EP titled PNDColours, with the follow-up COLOURS 2, released in 2017.[12] In 2015, he produced three songs on Drake's If You're Reading This It's Too Late: "Legend", "Preach" and "Wednesday Night Interlude".[7]
2016–present: PartyNextDoor 3, Partymobile and Partypack
PartyNextDoor earned his first number-one song as a songwriter when on January 27, 2016, Rihanna released the lead single "Work" from her eighth studio album, Anti.[13][14] The song maintained its spot at number-one on the Billboard Hot 100 for nine consecutive weeks. He also penned the song "Sex with Me" on the same album.[2] On March 25, 2016, PartyNextDoor released "Come and See Me", which features fellow artist Drake, from his upcoming second studio album, PartyNextDoor 3 (also known as P3). A music video directed by affiliate and collaborator Adrian Martinez and featuring appearances by Kylie Jenner, Big Sean, and Jhené Aiko was released on Snapchat on June 23, 2016.[15] On June 15, 2016, Jeremih called into Real 92.3 LA to announce a joint album with PartyNextDoor called Late Night Party. On July 2, 2016, he released another single, "Like That", featuring Jeremih and Lil Wayne, on OVO Sound radio.[16] On July 21, 2016, PartyNextDoor announced the release date for his second studio album PartyNextDoor 3 for August 12, 2016, and released "Not Nice", the record's second single.[17]
He and Jeremih toured in 2016 and had plans to release a joint project.[18]
On June 4, 2017, PartyNextDoor released Colours 2 without any prior announcement. A short film for the EP was released on June 12, 2017.[citation needed]
On September 29, 2017, he released an EP titled Seven Days, which included guest appearances from Halsey and Rick Ross.
After a lead artist hiatus PartyNextDoor returned in December 2019 with two singles "The News" and "Loyal", with the latter featuring Drake. They served as the lead singles of his album Partymobile which he tweeted would be released in February.[19] The album was eventually released on March 27, 2020, following delays.[20]
On October 15, 2020, Party surprise-announced the release of Partypack, a seven-song EP containing previously unreleased songs like the 2014 song "Persian Rugs". The EP was released the following day.[21]
On January 29, 2021, Party released his 2014 EP, Colours, to streaming services for the first time. It includes four extra tracks that were previously released as Colours 2 in 2017.

You'll be looking for me while I'm riding in
That brand new whip you wanted (ooh, yeah yeah)
All I ever asked for was patience
(That's all I ever asked and you know it)
Patience and pussy but mostly patience (yeah, yeah)
('Cause you gon' use it anyway)
Swear I used to keep you faded
But girl what's better than this? (Ooh)
We were supposed to do big things ('posed to do big things)
Now you're waiting for something better
But girl, what's better than this?
Popping champagne over here
Girl it ain't a thang over here
Throwing money fast over here
Blowing all this cash over here (yeah)
Popping champagne over here (over here)
Girl it ain't a thang over here (over here)
Throwing money fast over here (over here)
Blowing all this cash on this side
Me and my niggas bucking head first
You supposed to be there when my head hurt
Used to be going out hardly, now we wanna party
Celebration on me, well what's up?
Pay homage, I roll through the city like young Sheikh Mohammed
It can't be that hard to find us
Go to Jungle, pick up my Ethiopian Goddess
That's when words spread, a Bugatti is in the projects
The boy home, used to take the bus to the block
Now summertime whips come through and bust up the block
I remember seeing Nikk's having to bust up a block
And sell the work right to Hush
Y'all niggas must have forgot
But I was there Nas don shit
Couple things sit on my conscience
With that said, look at all we accomplished
And sure this ain't Compton
But this ain't a fairy tale land neither
We all lost mad people, the city wild
They gave the task to a purposeful child
Verses start to get a little more personal now
But that's cause everybody else sound is so played out though
Oliver North in the cut Dolce'd out though
A thousand dollar bottle it get poured straight out though
I'm screaming OVO on the whole way out though
I'm back boy for real, I'm that boy for real
I got hits nigga, you just a bat boy for real
Backwoods get peeled, I smoke away all the tears
Nothing was the same man, including y'all careers
The new Cash Money, the new Roc-A-Fella
Bunch of young rich niggas, turn around if you jealous boy
Popping champagne over here
Girl it ain't a thang over here
Throwing money fast over here
Blowing all this cash over here (right right)
Popping champagne over here (one time)
Girl it ain't a thang over here (two time)
Throwing money fast over here (over here)
Blowing all this cash on this side
The lyrics to PARTYNEXTDOOR's song "Over Here" touch on themes of success and fame, relationships, and party culture. The singer reflects on the changes that have come with his newfound success and the ways in which it has affected his relationships. He mentions how he used to keep his partner faded but now she is waiting for something better. He asks her, "what's better than this?" and reflects on their plans to do big things together. He then goes on to brag about his wealth and success, popping champagne and throwing money fast, while asserting that he and his crew are the new Cash Money and the new Roc-A-Fella.
The lyrics to "Over Here" reflect a common trope in hip-hop, where the rapper celebrates their success in the form of material goods and excess. However, PARTYNEXTDOOR also touches on the theme of relationships and how success can change them. He seems to be struggling with finding a balance between his new life and the people who were with him before he became famous. Overall, the song explores the ups and downs of achieving success and the ways in which it can impact one's life.
