2007–2014: Career beginnings and debut album
Having made electronic-infused R&B under his real name Jahron Brathwaite [Jahron B], he signed a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell as a songwriter, under the name PartyNextDoor, at age 18.[7][failed verification] His first mixtape, PartyNextDoor, was released to the iTunes Store on July 1, 2013.[8] It entered on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart at number six with sales of 2,000 copies[9] and peaked at number 34 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart for the week of July 20, 2013.[10] He performed background vocals on "Own It" and "Come Thru" from Drake's third studio album, Nothing Was the Same.[11]
His debut studio album PartyNextDoor Two was released on July 30, 2014. The record featured singles like "Thirsty", "FWU", "East Liberty" and the Billboard charted "Recognize", featuring Drake. Later that year, on December 3, 2014, PartyNextDoor released the four-track EP titled PNDColours, with the follow-up COLOURS 2, released in 2017.[12] In 2015, he produced three songs on Drake's If You're Reading This It's Too Late: "Legend", "Preach" and "Wednesday Night Interlude".[7]
2016–present: PartyNextDoor 3, Partymobile and Partypack
PartyNextDoor earned his first number-one song as a songwriter when on January 27, 2016, Rihanna released the lead single "Work" from her eighth studio album, Anti.[13][14] The song maintained its spot at number-one on the Billboard Hot 100 for nine consecutive weeks. He also penned the song "Sex with Me" on the same album.[2] On March 25, 2016, PartyNextDoor released "Come and See Me", which features fellow artist Drake, from his upcoming second studio album, PartyNextDoor 3 (also known as P3). A music video directed by affiliate and collaborator Adrian Martinez and featuring appearances by Kylie Jenner, Big Sean, and Jhené Aiko was released on Snapchat on June 23, 2016.[15] On June 15, 2016, Jeremih called into Real 92.3 LA to announce a joint album with PartyNextDoor called Late Night Party. On July 2, 2016, he released another single, "Like That", featuring Jeremih and Lil Wayne, on OVO Sound radio.[16] On July 21, 2016, PartyNextDoor announced the release date for his second studio album PartyNextDoor 3 for August 12, 2016, and released "Not Nice", the record's second single.[17]
He and Jeremih toured in 2016 and had plans to release a joint project.[18]
On June 4, 2017, PartyNextDoor released Colours 2 without any prior announcement. A short film for the EP was released on June 12, 2017.[citation needed]
On September 29, 2017, he released an EP titled Seven Days, which included guest appearances from Halsey and Rick Ross.
After a lead artist hiatus PartyNextDoor returned in December 2019 with two singles "The News" and "Loyal", with the latter featuring Drake. They served as the lead singles of his album Partymobile which he tweeted would be released in February.[19] The album was eventually released on March 27, 2020, following delays.[20]
On October 15, 2020, Party surprise-announced the release of Partypack, a seven-song EP containing previously unreleased songs like the 2014 song "Persian Rugs". The EP was released the following day.[21]
On January 29, 2021, Party released his 2014 EP, Colours, to streaming services for the first time. It includes four extra tracks that were previously released as Colours 2 in 2017.

It's yours
It's yours
Yours
You're still the one that I adore
Ain't much out there to have feelings for
Guess whose it is? Guess whose it is? (Yours)
A few bottles on the table, a few waters
It ain't a secret, baby, everybody saw us
Guess whose it is? Guess whose it is?
Guess whose it is? It's yours
Next time we fuck, I don't wanna fuck, I wanna make love
Next time we talk, I don't wanna just talk, I wanna trust
Next time I stand tall, I wanna be standin' for you
And next time I spend, I want it all to be for you, oh
Peakin', I'm peakin'
Wake up with me this weekend, we can, oh
Guess whose it is? Guess whose it is?
Guess whose it is? It's yours
Own it, own it, own it, own it
Own it, own it, own it, own it
Own it, own it, own it, own it
Own it, own it, own it, I said
Go own that shit, own that shit
Own that shit, own that shit
Go and own that shit, own that shit
Own that shit, you own that shit, go and
Own it, own it, own it, own it
Own it, own it, own it, own it
Own it, own it, own it, own it
Own it, own it, own it, own it
Go own that shit, own that shit
Own that shit
Own that shit, own that shit
Own that shit
Niggas talk more than bitches these days
Just let that shit sink in
Niggas talk more than bitches these days
Who could get the pussy quicker these days
Still straight with the weed and the liquor these days
'Cause the new drugs got the kids trippin' these days (trippy)
Bunch of journalists been searchin' for a story
My ex-girl been searchin' for a "sorry" (how you do?)
Couple bitches tryna have me all on Maury
Like nigga, it's yours, you should be supportin'
But where you been at? On tour, gettin' money
Y'all don't even really check for me
You ain't even hit me when that nigga had threats for me, girl
You don't love me, you just say that shit to get to me, girl
'Cause you got the Batphone and my work line
You should call
When the last time you did somethin' for the first time?
You done done it all
I swear to God, niggas talk more than bitches these days
Got you thinkin' that I'm different these days
Broken telephone for every single conversation
By the time it gets to you, shit switches these days, but oh (yeah)
It's yours, it's yours, it's yours, it's
It's always gonna be yours
Own it, own it, own it, own it
Own it, own it, own it, own it (it's always gonna be yours)
Own it, own it, own it, own it
Own it, own it, own it, I said (it's always gonna be yours)
Go own that shit
Own it
Own it
It's yours, it's yours
Own it, own it, own it, own it
Own it, baby, own it, it's yours
Own that shit, own that shit, own that shit
The lyrics to PARTYNEXTDOOR's song "Own It" revolve around a complex relationship dynamic where the singer is expressing their intense love and desire for someone. The repetition of the phrase "It's yours" signifies that the person they are addressing belongs to them and no one else can compare. The singer acknowledges that there may not be many things or people out there worth having feelings for, but the subject of the song is the exception. The lyrics invite the listener to guess who this person belongs to, emphasizing the possessive nature of their love.
The lyrics also mention a few bottles and waters on the table, suggesting that this relationship is not a secret and everyone is witness to their connection. The song expresses the singer's desire for a deeper and more meaningful connection, wanting to move beyond simply physical intimacy and into a realm of trust and love.
The second part of the song delves into the theme of people talking more than they should, comparing the gossip culture to a broken telephone. The singer addresses the rumors and negativity surrounding their relationship, emphasizing that despite it all, the person they love belongs to them and should be supporting them. The lyrics also touch on the idea that actions speak louder than words, questioning the sincerity of someone's love when they only say things to manipulate or provoke a response. Ultimately, the song asserts that the person in question will always belong to the singer, no matter what others may say or do.
