The lyrics of PARTYNEXTDOOR's "Some of Your Love" explore the conflicting emotions of love and desire. The singer begins by expressing his intoxicated state, indicating that he doesn't care about the consequences tonight. He wants the person he is addressing to reciprocate his feelings and give him some of their love. However, he acknowledges that these intense feelings might fade once he wakes up, resulting in a love-hate dynamic.
The chorus emphasizes the sexual tension between the two individuals. The singer urges the person to turn on the radio, symbolizing the erotic energy between them. He wants them to be ready for whatever may happen and emphasizes the importance of timing in their relationship. The repeated lines about being "soakin' wet" suggest a passionate and intense physical connection.
In the second verse, the lyrics take an unexpected turn, referencing a biblical story. The mention of Jesus turning water into wine and adding rum to his own drink is a metaphor for the singer seeking pleasure and indulgence. He warns the person not to be involved with other people when they're apart.
Overall, the lyrics of "Some of Your Love" depict a tumultuous, passionate, and sometimes contradictory relationship. They evoke a mix of desire, intoxication, and uncertainty. The singer is seeking an intense connection, but he is aware that it may be fleeting and accompanied by conflicting emotions.
