He began experimenting with sound and four-track recording at the age of 11, eventually building an arsenal of instruments that included junk-shop organs and a home-built theremin. At the age of 14 he joined the pop-art collective Minty, a venture that caught the eyes and ears of Fat Cat Records, which went on to supply the youth with a computer and mixing tools for aid in his newfound audio experimentation. He left home at the age of 16 and formed Maison Crimineaux with his friend Fanny, which eventually found its way to France where the noisy duo played a show attended by electronic maestro Kristian Robinson (aka Capitol K), who went on to release Wolf's lauded 2003 debut. With Lycanthropy reaching number 39 in the NME's top LPs of the year, as well as receiving critical acclaim throughout Europe and America, Wolf decided to study composition at the Trinity College Music Conservatoire.
The results of that endeavor can be heard on his 2005 release Wind in the Wires, a dark collection of moody British folk and chamber pop with a chilly laptop sheen.
Wolf released his third album, and the first on a major label, The Magic Position, in February 2007. A concept album on the theme of love, the majority of it was written after the end of a long term intimate relationship. It featured collaborations with Marianne Faithfull and Edward Larrikin of Larrikin Love.
His fourth album, The Bachelor, was originally supposed to be part of a double album called Battle (the other disc was to be called The Conqueror). It was released on 1 June 2009. Guest musicians included Atari Teenage Riot's Alec Empire, actress Tilda Swinton, folk musician Eliza Carthy and avant-garde electronic pioneer Matthew Herbert.
Wolf's fifth album, Lupercalia, was released on 20 June 2011 by Hideout, a subsidiary of Mercury Records. Songfacts explains that the album title refers to the fertility and love festival which the ancient Romans celebrated between February 13-15 (the predecessor to Valentine's Day).
His latest release is a double album entitled Sundark and Riverlight, celebrating Wolf's 10 years as a recording artist. The album features acoustic re-recordings of songs from throughout his career, as well as previously unheard tracks.
The Days

And the spire,
And a sunset,
Deep and red,
Phoenix and fireflies.
And the time stops,
And the traffic slows,
And this heart starts pulling apart
And I long to be carried on
Once to be lifted strong
Out of the loneliness, and the emptiness of the days.
I had your loved ones
Seize my body whole,
And at first I fought this flesh to have a soul
Made my world turn, made my flesh behold,
And darling, it was your hand I hold.
And I long to be carried on
Once to be lifted strong,
Out of the loneliness, and the emptiness of the days.
In Patrick Wolf's song "The Days," the singer describes feeling overwhelmed by the beauty of a sunset and a church steeple. As time seems to slow down and his heart begins to ache, he longs to be carried away from the loneliness and emptiness of his everyday life. He then reflects on a past relationship, where the love of another person gave him a sense of purpose and made his world feel more vivid.
The imagery in this song is particularly striking, as Wolf uses the contrast between the fiery red sunset and the cold flesh and worn bones of his own body to convey a sense of longing and mortality. The church steeple and spire add a spiritual dimension to the song, suggesting that the singer is searching for something beyond the mundane world he inhabits. Finally, the reference to a past relationship adds a bittersweet note, as the singer remembers the joy and connection he once felt with another person.
Overall, "The Days" is a haunting and evocative meditation on the fleeting nature of beauty and the power of human connection to give our lives meaning.

The days, passing days
I see the steeple and trace to the spire
And the sunset
Deepening red
Phoenix and the firefly
And the time stops
Rush hour traffic slows
And my heart starts beating this dark
Through old flesh and cold bones
And I long to be carried on
Just once to be lifted strong
Out of the loneliness and the emptiness
Of the days
Days, passing days
The days I remember
I had your love once
Seized my body whole
And our first dance
Well, I thought by chance
God had matched my soul
But time bought its traveling
This distance and solitude
And in that traveling, myself damaging
I took my love far, far from you
But don't you still long to be carried on?
Once more I could lift you strong
Out of the loneliness and the emptiness
Of the days
Passing days
Passing days
Days
Now tell me
Have we gone too far or did we get too close?
Forgive me, Father, I've no son, here come, ghost
I promise I'll meet you
I'll meet you at the end of the days
The days, passing days
Won't you meet me at the end of the day

Why isn't this song on spotify?
@maynorengel8273
We need more movies like God's Own Country, Shelter and Latter Days. I was getting sick of the bunch of movies with tragic and sad endings.
@televizion0101
Looooooooooove Shelter!
Haven't seen Latter Days though
@erized2741
@Tele Vizion I didn't like Latter Days that much, mainly because of the bad acting, but the leads had great chemistry, and I really love a happy ending for gay movies!
@SethHanLee
Try "the way He looks"
@jacbrito
Where can I watch those movies? I can't find them on Netflix (Brazil).
