Starting as a trumpet player and studying music theory, Kalkbrenner later switched to electronic music. In 1999 he released his first tracks under the name of Paul dB+. As a live act, he performs using Ableton Live in combination with midi controllers and hardware synthesizers.
In 2008 he composed the sountrack for the German movie Berlin Calling in which he also is the leading actor. The theme song Sky and Sand, featuring his brother Fritz Kalkbrenner ended up in various European charts.

@@maxwerth6641 Ich auch und ich fühle den Song so sehr. Da kommt immer irgendwie Nostalgie in mir hoch. Ich erinnere mich an alle Erfahrungen, die ich bisher gemacht habe, ob gut oder schlecht. Viele schöne Erfahrungen würde ich gerne noch mal erleben, während die schlechten Erfahrungen mich über die Jahre stark gemacht haben. Dieser Song ist, wie viele andere auch schon sagten eine emotionale Reise.

I was once driving in the car with this song blasting through the speakers. It was getting dark, I looked around and on my left side the sky was as dark as possible, while on my right side it was still pretty light. Felt like splitting day and night, literally. Gave me goosebumps all over while this song was on. Felt amazing! Every song is a masterpiece though, but this one feels special. Makes me think back in time about all memories made. So much love.
