This Fijian born songstress was barely in her 20’s as we watched her shine through the lens of the first series of Australian Idol (2003), thrust into the spotlight as the competition reached fever like pitch. Making it through to the final four, she won the hearts of a nation with her angelic, five octave range, and engaging personality.
As an artist Paulini rose to prominence on the top of the Australian ARIA Charts in 2004 with her debut Platinum album "One Determined Heart" and her Platinum smash single "Angel Eyes", both hitting the No. 1 spot (Angel Eyes remained at the top of the charts for 6 consecutive weeks).
In fact, Paulini is one of only ten Australian female solo artists to have a #1 album.
In 2006, Australia’s sweetheart released her second critically acclaimed album "Superwoman" including the hit singles "Rough Day" and her self-penned "So Over You", spawning her two UVMA nominations for Best Female Artist and R&B Album of the year. Paulini then joined forces with the Young Divas, releasing an album that spawned three consecutive top 5 hits and a national sold out tour.
With double platinum solo albums and singles under her belt, and the incredible success of both Young Divas and most recently the touring ensemble Ladies Of Jazz, Paulini is firmly established as one of Australia’s favourite singers.
Paulini is now moving her career forward in a fresh and positive manner, continuing to record new material and cementing her status as a songwriter after inking a publishing deal with Alberts Music (home of ACDC and Vanda and Young).
Her most recent single, Scarless, was released independently in November to help raise awareness for White Ribbon Day, and the White Ribbon Campaign. This is only one of a number of songs she is preparing for her album planned for the second half of 2010.
Over the years Paulini has grown as a performer, a songwriter and a woman, steering her own destiny in her music career and making choices that she truly feels good about. “I’m at the happiest point in my life. I’m spending my spare time in the studio writing and creating my own work.”

By Janice Tao
To Some Married Man
Just leave me alone
Just leave me alone
Just leave me alone
Just leave me alone
Just leave me alone
Just leave me alone
Just leave me alone
You walked in, to the room
It hadn′t even been 2 minutes since your honeymoon
But your things, I don't believe
Oh I′m not stupid, and I'm definately not naive
You talk so smooth (you talk so smooth yeah)
You made your move (and there's just one thing)
You′re a married man
You should understand
I can′t be your girl when you're somebody′s man
(Don't even think about it)
Not goin′ on around
Playin' on the side
I won′t be the girl
Messin' with a man
So just leave me alone
Don't call my phone
Don′t you know I won′t be part of your plan
Baby can't you see
This will never be
I won′t be your girl
You're a married man
Just leave me alone
Just leave me alone
Just leave me alone
Just leave me alone
Just leave me alone baby, oh no
Just leave me alone
Just leave me alone
Just leave me alone
Just leave me alone
It′s not right
You mess around
Don't mess with me
Cuz you know I′m gonna shut you down
Some girls, they might play
But I ain't no way that
And I'll never ever be that way (and I′ll never be that way)
You may be smooth (oh you may be smooth)
You got the moves
(I saw you hide your hand, you were takin′ off your wedding ring)
You're a married man
You should understand
I can′t be your girl when you're somebody′s man
(Don't even think about it)
Not goin′ on around
Playin' on the side
I won't be the girl
Messin′ with a man
So just leave me alone
Don′t call my phone
Don't you know I won′t be part of your plan
(I won't be part of your plan)
Baby can′t you see
This will never be
I won't be your girl
You′re a married man
Don't even think about
Buyin' me a drink (oh)
Don′t even think about
Gettin′ my number
Don't even think about
Tryin′ anything
You wanna be my man, you don't stand a chance
(You don′t stand a chance)
Don't even think about
Lookin′ my way
Cuz money can't buy
Honey don't try me
And don′t even think about
What you gonna say
Better get away
Better get away
You better get away
You′re a married man
You should understand
I can't be your girl when you′re somebody's man
(Leave me alone)
Not goin′ on around
Playin' on the side
I won′t be the girl
Messin' with a man
(You're a married man)
So just leave me alone
Don′t call my phone
Don′t you know I won't be part of your plan
(I won′t be part of your plan)
Baby can't you see
This will never be
I won′t be your girl
You're a married man
You′re a married man
(Don't even think about it)
Just leave me alone
You gotta leave me alone, baby
You're a married man
(Don′t even think about it)
Oh no
So just leave me alone
Don′t call my phone
Don't you know I won′t be part of your plan
(I won't be part of your plan)
Baby can′t you see
This will never be
I won't be your girl
You′re a married man
No yeah
Just leave me alone
Just leave me alone
Just leave me alone
Just leave me alone
You better leave me alone baby, oh yeah
Just leave me alone
Just leave me alone
Just leave me alone
Just leave me alone
You better leave me alone, oh yeah
Just leave me alone
Just leave me alone
Just leave me alone
Just leave me alone
You better leave me alone, oh yeah
Just leave me alone
Just leave me alone
Just leave me alone
Just leave me alone
(Just leave me alone)
Really don't wanna mess up with you
The song "Married Man" by Paulini is a feminist anthem aimed at a man who is trying to seduce the singer, but he is already married. The song tells the man to stay away from her and not to contact her. The lyrics express the singer's frustration with men who try to cheat on their partners and use other women for their pleasure. The song has a cautionary message, warning men that such behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
The song's opening lines, "To some married man, just leave me alone," set the tone for the entire song. It's a clear message to the man that he should not be trying to get involved with the singer. The lyrics then describe the man's attempts to seduce her and how he tries to make excuses for his behavior. The song's chorus repeatedly reinforces the message that the singer will not be involved with a married man, using variations on the phrase "just leave me alone."
In summary, the song's message is that cheating on a partner is wrong, and the singer will not be complicit in such behavior. It delivers this message through lyrics that are firm and clear but also remain upbeat and catchy, making the tune an enjoyable one to listen to.
