The lyrics to Pegboard Nerds's song, "So What," seem to focus on celebrating life and living in the moment. The repeated phrase "So what here we" seems to signal a call to action or togetherness, inviting listeners to join in on the celebration. The phrase "diga am chick" doesn't appear to have a clear meaning but could be interpreted as an exclamation of excitement or a call to dance. The addition of "oh oohhooaoo" to the end of the phrase further emphasizes a playful and energetic tone.
The repeated "bam chick" and "bim bah bah" seem similarly designed to energize and excite listeners. The nonsensical lyrics could be seen as a form of "scatting," which is often used in jazz and other improvisational genres to create rhythmic expressions without words. The use of scatting in this context could again emphasize the joy and spontaneity of the moment.
The lyrics towards the end of the song, which mention Nirvana and madness, could be interpreted as a call to let go of rationality and embrace the ecstasy of the present. The phrase "raise gachgy" could be interpreted as a chant or incantation to enter this state of mind. Overall, while the lyrics of "So What" are somewhat nonsensical, they seem to invite listeners to let loose and participate in a celebration of life.
