Their music is characterised by Barrett's virtuoso guitar playing and his highly emotional, if unique, vocal performances.
On October 1st 2008 the band released the album Pure. This album features their heaviest songs as of yet, being influenced by the newer Porcupine Tree.
The band continues to be active.

PenDragon produces and writes not only rap but also R&B. Also writing TV shows, movies, and books are steadily draining the ink out of Drags pe ns. When asked about what he wants people to get out of his music Drag says, I want people to know that everything that you go through, someone else is going through that too. If I can comfort someone with what I say, and they can apply that to themselves and make them realize that life is real and everybody, no matter their position, had to overcome something, whether great or small. I want to give a voice to those that are not getting heard. And let them know that it is alright to feel all emotions of life, because everyone does, and its real.

Circus
Pendragon Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
But still shadowed by a doubt
Acrobats deceive, deceive me
No safety net to help you out
Self-conscious discipline
Unconscious disciple in bewildered religion
All the things you've said and done
Hope the art remains unharmed
Drifting away your child your lover
The thing you loved has poisoned you
Bitter talk that reeks of almond
Do pictures in a gallery scorn the painter?
Does a book destroy the writer?
In a field of inspiration
I see clowns approaching me
I look the other way to find a smile to cling to
Trying to justify, simplify and rectify the end
What ambitious man would sit back and onlook
While his dream goes sailing by
In the icy cold night he'll cry
With the kids tucked up and slippers dry
I remember that circus so well
The lyrics "Outgrown the big top but still shadowed by a doubt" depict the main protagonist who has left behind the world of circus, but still doubts his or her decision. The acrobats deceive him or her, being unwilling to perform and push for the limits anymore. There are no safety nets to help out in case of any failure indicating that this person is feeling vulnerable and exposed to the uncertainty of the future. The singer's self-conscious discipline and unconscious disciple are a reflection of his or her struggles of coming out of the bewildered religion. Despite this, he or she hopes that the art he has left behind remains untouched.
The second verse is a reflection of the singer's current situation. He or she feels isolated but yearns for validation from others. The things he or she loved, which is the circus have poisoned him or her leaving a bitter taste. The lyrics question if pictures in a gallery scorn the painter or if a book destroys the writer. The singer is going through a sort of existential crisis where he or she questions the meaning of his or her art and if it has any value. This person sees clowns approaching but looks the other way, searching for something to hold on to. Finally, the song ends with the singer remembering the good times and looking back to the memories.
