Trust
Peppermint Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

It's a pity, you're a stranger
And we like to know you, show you around
If you wanna free from danger
Share the secret sight, I'm bound to be true

In the city built on laughter
I have found you crying, caught you adrift
Much to me I'm from here after
We'll be safe then sorrow shatters in bits
(Ahh-ahh-ahh-ahh-ahh)

Trust in me, I will care for you
Share a grace with you I'll make a place for you
For you and me (ah)
You and me (ah)

Even if it blames with you
I'd be honored to serve you, take a step with you
Always there with a loving man
When you're there, will you go?
You said I'd serve you well, serve thee well

(Ah) In a world of hidden treasure
Hiding from the rainbow found it in you
(Ooh) Taking cup full within your pleasure
Love will come in silence faithful and true

Trust in me, I will care for you
Share a grace with you I'll make a place for you

For you and me (ah)
Trust in me (ah) trust in me

I discovered this terrific song/group in an episode of Mannix. A great example of '60s pop at its best. Thanks for posting.

It's Wednesday, May 4, 2022 and I'm watching that episode of Mannix right now! S2 E8: Who Will Dig The Graves

@jh76103 Excellent!

@jh76103 Ha ๐Ÿ˜‚ I'm late to the party, as I DVR it on MeTV and watch it on the weekends! I haven't seen any of these episodes since the 80s! I used to watch the reruns with my grandma as a kid. I used to have the first season on DVD... I will say this 2nd season, Mannix has to rely a bit more on his gut feelings now that the high-tech Intertect is gone. Still a well written show. Much better than Cannon or Barnaby Jones, but I still enjoy those too. Cool song here! Not Strawberry Alarm Clock, but close.

@Robo Q-Man I was a kid in the 70s and Mannix was either passed my bedtime or my parents didn't watch it because I don't remember hearing that catchy, jazzy theme song until I was older. They did watch Cannon (I'm a fan) and Barnaby Jones (meh) though. I was in love with Kojak/Telly Savalas. Who loves you baby? LOL

Robo Q-Man

@jh76103 Kinda funny, but I lived in NYC for a year in the late 90s and there was some kind of theft of somebody's purse at my office... Anyways long story short, two NYP detectives came to make the report. These two cats were dressed like they were right out of 1970s Kojak! Bad polyester suits and wide loud ties with the greasy hair parted on the side... It was quite the funny sight to see I must say! ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ They did actually find out who the culprit was! The boyfriend of a girl who worked there...

Wow...that's got to be one of the earliest uses of a fretless that I've ever seen! I always loved the sound of the PTC...such mellow and lush vocal harmonies.

I watch this every time I want to get back to simpler days. What a time capsule.

HOT DAMN.i used to own the original vinyl LP of the album Bones featuring the hit "Roberta". That Bones album is so flawlwess.Every track is a perfectly crafted pop masterpiece. I used to carry it around the house wherever I went coz I loved that album so much. This was in the 90s when I was about 8 or 9.I actually found the album in my Dad's record collection,so technically he bought it in the 70s. Jimmy & Danny should be in the Rock & Hall, and Songwriters Hall of Fame. Nuff said.

This song was written by the brilliant Paul Williams, not by anyone in this group.
