Neatly described as one of the world's best-kept secrets, Blake has released five studio albums, a sountrack to french movie "Presque Rien" and a live album recorded with an orchestra at Cirque Royale in Brussels.
In February 2005 Blake received a gold disc for two songs he co-wrote with Marco Sabiu for French icon Francoise Hardy. The album also won a French grammy.
Blake also had two songs featured in the movie "Trois Petites Filles", directed by Cannes award winning director, Jean-Loup Hubbert. He has collaborated with French Top 20 artist, Emilie Simon, performing a duet and scoring the choral arrangements.
Perry Blakes sixth studio album 'Canyon Songs' will be released in spring 2007. It's quite a departure from previous work with a strong melancholic country flavour.

Ava
Perry Blake Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Catch the moment that i had you near
Solitude, solitude
Will good fortune make a path for you ?
Ava ava
Spending my days without you
Ava ava
Celebrate, celebrate
Cut the bows and watch this all sail away
Fear is fine, fear is mine
But when it's gone will that morning be mine?
Ava ava
Spending my days without you
Ava ava
Ending my days without you
The lyrics to Perry Blake's song "Ava" are melancholic and introspective. The first verse describes a feeling of isolation ("solitude"), but graced by a momentary encounter with someone special ("catch the moment that I had you near"). The second verse expresses regret and sadness for having to live without this person every day. The chorus, which repeats twice, portrays a deep sense of yearning and longing for this absent figure, whose name is repeated several times.
The third verse talks about celebrating and letting go of something, perhaps a relationship or a dream ("cut the bows and watch this all sail away"). The reference to fear appears to suggest that this process is difficult and painful; fear is a part of life but when it subsides, will there be hope for a new beginning ("will that morning be mine?"). The final chorus repeats the name "Ava" as a mantra, emphasizing the emotional resonance it has for the singer.
Overall, "Ava" is a poignant meditation on the loss of love and the search for meaning in solitude. The repetition of phrases ("solitaire," "solitude," "Ava") creates a hypnotic effect that intensifies the emotional impact of the song.
