The Sweetest Sounds
Perry Como Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Are still inside my head!
The kindest words I'll ever know,
Are waiting to be said!
The most entrancing sight of all,
Is yet for me to see!
And the dearest love in all the world,
Is waiting somewhere,
Somewhere for me!
And the dearest love in all the world,
Is waiting somewhere for me,
Is waiting somewhere,
Somewhere for me!
In Perry Como's 'The Sweetest Sounds', the lyrics are a reflection of the individual's innermost desires and aspirations. The phrase, "The sweetest sounds I'll ever hear, are still inside my head" implies that the sound of contentment or satisfaction in life is entirely internal and comes from one's own thoughts and feelings. The individual believes that the kindest words they will ever hear "are waiting to be said," suggesting that there is a universal kindness that people have yet to express to one another.
The following lines, "The most entrancing sight of all is yet for me to see," and "And the dearest love in all the world is waiting somewhere for me," both evoke a sense of hope, possibility, and anticipation. The person believes that there is still much more beauty and love to be discovered in the world, and they look forward to finding it. The lyrics convey a message of hope, that there is always something positive and good on the horizon, even if it hasn't been discovered yet.
