The government know this, but will not intervene because its obviously part of a bigger plan to allow criminals as young as 14 to think it's ok to do this as there are literally zero consequences. How exactly is the justice system ridiculous? He was originally given a 17 year sentence. That is pretty long for involuntary manslaughter. He sentence was then extended to 21 years. Whilst in jail he recieved another 10 years for attacking guards. His sentence was then changed to a full life term. He will never see the outside of a jail again.

This is why I always carry a unopened bottle of water in my bag every time I visit London, just incase myself or someone else is attacked in this way. 500ml bottle won't be enough, but it's enough to dilute the acid on the face area long enough to get to a more plentiful supply and hopefully stay off any long term scaring. @@Sarah.Riedel Yes vinegar is acidic, however in the bottle it's only 5% vinegar and the rest water. The combination causes it to neutralize certain acids. I used to work in a potato chip factory and was responsible for cleaning the machines. Once a week we would suit up and spray an acid foam all over everything. Bottles of vinegar were stationed around the area in the event someone got the acid on their skin. One day I was taking off my suit and face shield and a small droplet ran down my forehead. I initially ignored it lol. After a min the burning intensified and I ran for that vinegar. I can't explain the science all I can say is it definitely took the pain down from 100 to a 2 in a few seconds. A paste made of baking soda and water works in similar fashion but its probably not practical to carry around lol

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE AN ALKALI, as almost all acid+alkali reactions are exothermic (as in they produce heat), so now you’ll have HOT acid on you.

COLD RUNNING WATER AND A LOT OF IT is the best help. Keep the burning areas under the water, and if it is in your eye, turn your head so the water runs AWAY from your other eye so that one doesn’t get affected too.

This is bad advice. Never use anything but clean water to treat an acid attack!
Vinegar is acidic and can cause a chemical burn on it's own. Vinegar only works if you know for a fact the chemical used in the attack is alkaline and you have no way of knowing that.
Only use clean water.

Xeneral Webster went out with the intention of chucking acid on a guy he was having trouble with. He got into an argument with another guy who then kicked the bottle of acid out of Xeneral Webster's hand. This is when Joanne Rand got splashed with the acid. Xeneral Webster was initially given 17 years which was extened to 21 years. In prison he atacked prison staff and got another 10 years added to his sentnece. This was later changed to a full life term. Xeneral Webster will never see the outside world again. He will die in jail.

I have seen multiple videos of this story but none have shown the man he supposedly got into a scuffle with. I saw him go up to a bike with his friend, then stroll away on the bike without anyone chasing him or figthing with him. He even goes back for the bottle, but no one is going after him. Where is this guy he was fighting with? I don't believe that story.

So the reason why this was manslaughter was because it was kind of like a freak accident unfortunately. The bottle only ends up on her side as a result of the an argument between the guy in black trying to steal the bike from those other 2 men. The bottle is thrown towards where she is sitting. So one of the two guys either knocked the bottle or threw the bottle towards where Joanne was sitting not at her and not intneitonally by the sounds of it. What a horrible way to go. She wasnt the target just an innocent bystander unfortunately.

I think that those who seek asylum should be able to get it, but in steps. The more years without crime, the further you can get in the steps. 5 steps to becoming a full citizen, with 2 years for each step. If you then commit a crime in the first steps, the asylum is removed. It can hardly be fairer than that.

He was charged with involuntary manslaughter and was originally given 17 years which was increased to 20 years. He then attacked prison guards and his sentence was changed to a life term meaning he will serve 25 years minimum. THat's a pretty long time for something that was accidental and not intentional.

I didn't know about this terrible tragedy. Having read many of the comments it seems the UK authorities are out of sync with most people. Rather than build more prisons they adjust paperwork and let dangerous people go free. In Indonesia, where I live, the general public usually polices the streets. It's very effect and totally without cost and paperwork. That thug and his fellow thugs would have been beaten, possibly to death by bystanders coming together. Really, there are no shop lifters - at all. it's way to dangerous. Motorcycle thieves, if caught are often burnt to death, using the petrol from the bike they stole. Yes, that's too extreme, but thieves in Indonesia - and most developing countries - are desperate people and usually genuinely very poor....

The police have been handcuffed by the very government that you all vote for.
Theyve slowly been mutated from a police FORCE to a SERVICE that's now designed to focus more on making money for the government, with little interest in anything that doesnt make money, which is why you see less handling of domestic cases, but more focus on motorway or traffic based 'jobs' where fines can be issued.

And if a case does make it in to the judicial system, the gov chose to instead save money by giving out lesser sentences. They don't care about the consequences or the families that have to pick up the pieces.....as long as they're making money and privatising e erything.

I just want to say from a medical perspective, she only had a 5 percent burns, that's five Palmar surface if anyone is wondering..1 degree is one palm surface..Now, how the hell did she get septic? There definitely was errors from the hospital, proper care definitely was not given, or she didn't take care of it, if she was released from the hospital.
