1) Petra is a Christian Rock band formed in 1972 by Bob Hartman, Bill Glover, John DeGroff, and Greg Hough. "Petra" means "rock" in NT Greek, making the band name a triple pun. Rising from the Jesus music movement, and initially signed to [recordlabel]Myrrh Records[/recordlabel], they fought to gain acceptance and recognition in a church culture that at the time believed rock music to be off-limits. Over time they eventually won over most of their critics, thanks to a steady approach and some solid adult contemporary airplay hits like "The Coloring Song," outside of their usual rock fare. By the mid-80's, when lead singer Greg X. Volz left the band and was replaced by John Schlitt, Petra had solidified their place as the foremost Christian rock band in the industry with a string of hit albums and singles and strong touring. The release of Petra Praise: The Rock Cries Out marked a turn towards modern-sounding worship music that would soon explode into the modern worship movement.
Petra was nominated for and won numerous Grammy and Dove Awards. In 1991, after the release of their acclaimed Beyond Belief record, Petra became the first rock band ever to win for Group of the Year at the Dove Awards. They were also the first Christian rock band to be inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.
For three decades Petra continued to produce albums despite changes in their line-up as well as the genre and market. On May 24th, 2005 Petra announced their retirement after 33 years of ministry. They recorded one of their final performances in Franklin, Tennessee to release it as their last album, Farewell. Their last performance finished in the early hours of January 1, 2006 in Murphy, North Carolina. Bob Hartman and John Schlitt continue to tour under the moniker II Guys From Petra.

It Is Finished
Petra Lyrics

On a hill they call the Skull
The roaring of the angry mob had settled to a lull
All eyes were cast upon the man whose hands and feet were bound
They saw him cry in anguish when they heard the hammer pound
They watched the bloody woven thorns with which His head was crowned
They watched the bloody cross of wood be dropped into the ground
They saw the sign above His head that said "King of the Jews"
(It is finished) And the sky grew black as the night
(It is finished) And the people scattered in fright
The work had been done, redemption had been won
The war was over without a fight
It is finished
They searched His face for anger, for vengeance in His stare
Instead of eyes that burned with hate a look of love was there
He prayed for their forgiveness and bowed His battered head
And no one knew the meaning of the final words He said
The provision has been made
The foundation has been laid
He paid the ransom due and tore the temple veil in two
And opened up the way for me and you
It is finished
The lyrics of Petra's "It Is Finished" tell the story of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ from the perspective of those who witnessed it. It begins in the early morning on a hill called the Skull, where the angry mob has settled down into a lull, watching as the man they have bound cries in anguish when the hammer pounds. As they watch, they see the thorns woven into a crown placed on his head, and the wooden cross drop to the ground. The soldiers gamble over his clothes and see the sign above his head which states that he is the king of the Jews. The phrase "It is finished" is repeated as the realization dawns that the work of redemption has been done, and the war has been won without a fight. The description of a black sky and scattered people adds to the sense of despair and chaos that is the result of the death of Jesus.
The second verse of "It Is Finished" describes how the people who witnessed the crucifixion of Jesus searched his face for signs of anger or vengeance but instead saw a look of love. They watched as he prayed for their forgiveness, and bowed his battered head. The final words he spoke were not understood by anyone. However, the meaning of those words is revealed in the chorus of the song, which declares that the provision has been made, the foundation has been laid, the ransom has been paid, and the temple veil has been torn in two. These events opened the way for all people to find salvation and a relationship with God through Jesus. The final phrase of the song, "It is finished," is a conclusive statement of the Fathers' work through Jesus towards humanity.

1 John 2:4
If someone claims, “I know God,” but doesn’t obey God’s commandments, that person is a liar and is not living in the truth.
Mathew 5:19
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall becalled the least in the kingdom of heaven: but who soever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
You have to put in the works man.
They wont save you, but you dont follow the laws to be saved, you follow the commandments because you Love YHWH with all your heart soul and mind, and are beyond Grateful that YHWH Sent Yeshua Messiah so we may have true grace through the renewed Covenant.
Abrahams faith was attributed to him as his righteousness. Abraham lived before the Torah was written, but he still new what was clean and unclean, so did Noah. How did they "know" the "law" before it was written down? Because it is apart of those who follow YHWH. Its innate.
Anyway blessings and Shalom.
