I worked at a grocery store among other jobs I had in the same town as Cornell University is in!! I used to laugh when I would see kids dressed in Cornell Tee Shirts come to my store and try to walk IN to the exit only automatic door!! The reason why this was so funny was because there was a huge sign on the door that read "EXIT ONLY" and below that in giant print it read "USE OTHER DOOR"!! And I don't know how many times I watched these people walk face first into it without reading the warnings!!

Another job I had was at a gas station......and I watched a guy dump $30 of diesel fuel into his car, that I knew wasn't designed to run on Diesel Fuel!! And even when I shut off the pump and tried to warn him what he was doing.....he insisted I "shut up and just do my job!", so I allowed him to fill his car up with diesel fuel.......long story short....the next day the car was back at our gas station (at the service center side) to have 20 gallons or so of diesel fuel pumped out of the tank and engine!

It was created that way cause most women give up careers and support their spouses and therefore its only fair that they are entitled to half of the property aquired during the marriage. Yes, terrible people always benefit (not just from this law but from every other law as well) but that doesn't mean that all people should suffer. Imagine if it didnt exist? A wife who sacrifices her financial independence for a husband and children would be homeless in a divorce. And all the time she invested would be in vain.
eg-: innocent until proven guilty.
How many do you think walk away from a charge because of this presumption?
But the law says that it is better to let a wrongdoer walk free than to imprison an innocent.

Similarly every law has its positive and negative outcomes.

@@teekay698 each state has their own laws on how they go about divorce. It is good that woman in modern America has same opportunities as men. No longer is it taboo if a woman wants to be a doctor or professor. Unlike the 1940s or 30s. Although that great changes were made for equality, and fairness amongst genders, a lot of divorce laws in certain States are archaic and outdated. Which would have made sense in the past doesn't make sense today. A lot of divorce laws did not change with the times and have became unfairly biased against men. That is the honest truth of the matter. There's a lot of resources you can look up online to see how biased it really is.
