I am 77, and I went through the sixties listening to Petula Clark and so many great singers. It was a distinct musical Renaissance, and in its wake so many good memories were left to us. Even today, it was reported that over 70 percent of the radio stations around America still have a huge number of listeners tuned to these marvelous oldies. Even young people often like these older songs, because they have a depth of feeling and creativity, as well as wonderful tunes with memorable melodies. Thanks for sharing.

My deepest gratitude, that you should join us in these joyous and judicious commentaries, for the most part.
I'll never forget riding home on the long yellow school bus, with it's army green interior and down sliding windows, clear and square, long in rows toward the front of the bus, sitting in the back of the bus, a sophomore in high school and how grand it was, hearing Ms Clark's song, just out, simply blair through the whole of the bus, while we were, each of us, on our way home under a blinding California sunlit day.
Then years later, to live in Europe and experience the songs spirit from 'which it came.'

I was asleep this morning and had a dream I will never forget. Ms Clark had a microphone and was very casually singing in a college student union. She was singing a Peter Frampton tune. When I walked into the hall I instantly recognized her beautiful voice and ran up to her and hugged her. I had to wake up and cry for an hour, because it was just a dream.

Those were the best years of my life. Fantastic singers, no one spying on us free as a bird. The food was so delicious, life was worth something. I wouldn't change it anything in this universe ❤❤❤

❤😊😊 The best song ever . 62 yrs.old and can't stop playing this. Brings back memories of a great Era that can't be back. I will always hold on to this and other songs she sang. Thank you Petula for the good memories, wherever you are.

I saw Petula in concert several years ago, what a thrill to hear this and her other hits 'live'. Her voice was as good as ever as well as her beauty. Truly, one of the great pop music artists.

This is what I call: Pure unashamed luxury. When you open the door it is like opening your heart to lyrics that were meant to be written. I can only hope that I am not the last of romantic writers around. I wish the generation could write lyrics like these. Absolute timeless that music like this is hard to come by these days. What wonderful memories this song evokes for me.

I've come to realise what a great singer Petula has been through the years. Still going strong too. Also listen to her voice on Don't sleep in the subway : absolute magic.
