Most of Philโs previous work is made of various collaborations. In 2006, Phil A collaborated with Rasson Arigato (formerly known as Bambu) and P.O.L.O. forming the pop-culture and apocalyptic inspired trio Mob Zombie. In 2009 the group released their album, Join The Mob, later opening for notable artists including Guru of Gang Starr / Jazzmatazz. The album and performances of the trio won them the respect of the Las Vegas Hip Hop community. Later that year Mob Zombie was awarded Best Hip Hop Artist 2009 by Las Vegas City Life.
In 2010 Phil linked up with rapper Hassan Hamilton, forming the aptly named, Phil A & Hassan .The duo worked well together and quickly produced an album throughout the duration of the year, releasing their debut album, Rap Songs on 1 January 2011. The album once again won Phil A the recognition of the Hip Hop scene. The album was awarded Best Las Vegas Albums of 2011 by Las Vegas City Life, who called it, โsample-heavy New York beat structure with big acrobatic lyricism."
Recently Phil has broken away from his collaborative work and begun focusing on his solo efforts, releasing his first EP, The Grand Opening, early in 2012. In addition, to accompany his Just Beats events, Phil produced and released the 22 track instrumental album, TREATS. David Reyneke, of Potholes in My Blog, called the album "a fabulous introduction into the funky soul of a promising producer.โ

The lyrics of Phil A's song "Everybody" indicate that everyone desires to be a cat. This notion has been adopted because cats are the only feline creature who know where they are going. The contagious feline rhythm is spreading because every other form of note has become outdated. Traditional sea shanties played on horns can make an individual feel like they would have preferred never to have been born, however, a cat within the ensemble can take the rhythm back to the Stone Age, which can be beautiful in its own way.
On occasions when a bird tries to sing, it will appear cheesy, because only cats understand how to make music swing. It is not relevant to play music which doesn't allow the listeners to feel it deep inside of them. When people are apathetic or disinterested in an artist's music, the welcoming mat is placed on the carpet when jazz artists come on, because everyone loves a musician who can sync with a swinging cat.
