The main themes present in Phyno's song Connect are ambition, the pursuit of success, and staying true to oneself. The song starts out with Phyno boasting about his financial success and warning others not to mess with his connections. He then goes on to reflect on the struggles he faced before achieving success and tells his listeners not to cheat him. Phyno also emphasizes the importance of hard work and dedication while highlighting his local roots and the challenges they present in achieving success. He ends the song by admonishing his listeners to focus on making money and building connections instead of worrying about critics.
One interesting aspect of Connect is the mix of English and Igbo language in the lyrics. Phyno seamlessly blends both languages throughout the song, giving it a unique Nigerian flavor. The song was also one of the most popular Nigerian songs of 2015, and the video has received over six million views on YouTube. Furthermore, Connect was included in the tracklist for Phyno's second studio album, The Playmaker. The success of the song helped solidify Phyno's position as one of Nigeria's top music artists.
