She too young I'ma pass her to Tec
New bitch let a nigga smash like Melee
Her old nigga a square Wayne Brady

My pockets thicker than peanut butter
Feel like the Wayans I need my brothers
Chain too cold bet she'll need some covers

Purple shit, yeah, it look like a plum
Suck on it, yeah, she speaking in tongues
How you got bread but speaking on crumbs?
My chain too bright yo' shit dull
Got some SOSS better get you some
Runnin' it up 'til my legs get numb
Say he a Rockstar really a punk
I got that bass she shaking the trunk
I got that bass she letting me thump
Letting me beat like some African drums
Ballin' so hard like I play And1
'Bout my bread, yeah, 'bout my buns (yo, Pi'erre, you wanna come out here?)

Overall Meaning

The song "Groceries" by Pi'erre Bourne is a rap/hip-hop song filled with braggadocio lyrics that detail the rapper's success and wealth. The repetitive hook focused on the question of who can match Pi'erre Bourne's ability to obtain money and fast-paced lifestyle. The verses are filled with references to drugs, violence, and sexual conquests as he asserts his dominance over the competition. "Groceries" is a track that offers a peek into the rapper's life, serving as a form of manifesto aimed at warning anyone who might want to come close to him or challenge his hustle.

Pi'erre Bourne's boasting in the song is a reflection of the success he experienced producing for other artists, including Playboi Carti's self-titled mixtape, which peaked at #12 on the US Billboard 200 chart. Here, he gets to showcase his rapping skills while also taking a shot at any competition he might face. The lyrics explore themes of materialism, hedonism, and self-interest. The song's instrumental is a mix of airy synths, heavy bass and thumping drums set to a propulsive pace that keeps the energy levels high throughout the song.

Pierre is an emanant piece of music right now, but I can't shake the feeling that his releases as featured artist have not done justice to to his name, and clout he truly possesses.

Also I can't think of another producer currently pushing the envelope (and themselves) to grow into a performing artist role as well. My gut feeling is also that he's still doing most of the stuff himself, Beats, melodies, lyrics, all songwriting, engineering, mixing, mastering. Maybe not all at once but I'm pretty sure he's got knowledge and skills down to cover every step in a records production. I love and respect this man in the same way as I do Kanye, Travis, MF DOOM....

The one thing keeping Pierre Bourne out of this category is songwriting/lyrical stuff IMHO. No matter how dope any of those Ye/Trav/DOOM beats were, if they didn't regularly "click" their brain off, and SPAZZ tf out, on some Transcended Egyptian god-level bars type-shit, then we wouldn't be as interested in what they have to say.

The hidden challenge of mastering every part the production process is to completely put all of it out of your mind, and focus on "getting it out" on track, in the booth.
That's the beat's true purpose.
And tbh the beats really deserve that shit, I don't think there's a person alive who can hype crowds on beats alone like PB can.
