1. Pillar is composed of Rob Beckley (vocals), Lester Estelle Jr.(drums), Noah Henson (guitar), and Michael "Kalel" Wittig (bass). These Christian rockers with an alt-metal edge have been honing their infectious sound since 1998 while attending Ft. Hays State University in northwestern Kansas. A deal with Flicker was inked in 2000 after the band's self-released debut, Metamorphosis, impressed the label. Within months, Pillar followed things up with Above. Their first single, "Open Your Eyes," was popular on the college charts, earning Above nearly 60,000 in sales. Pillar also earned the Best Rock Band award at the annual Dove Awards in 2001.
A year later, Pillar relocated to Tulsa, OK, and released Fireproof. MCA picked up the band and reissued the energetic sophomore effort in 2003. However, MCA shut down shortly thereafter and Pillar returned to Flicker, and released their next album, Where Do We Go From Here, in 2004.
In 2005, Joey "Cinco" Avalos, formerly of Christian rock trio Justifide, was added as a second guitar player. He was never an official member of the band, and only played live shows. He no longer does, as he is playing in the newly started band "Stars Go Dim".
In Pillar's 2006 release, The Reckoning, the band stays true to their style while experimenting with new sounds. Pillar was nominated for the "Best Rock/Rap Gospel Album" Grammy with this album.
On Pillar's fifth album, For The Love Of The Game, frontman Rob Beckley says this:
“We get to say that we play rock ‘n roll for a living. We get to see lives changed. We have a renewed love and focus. With that in mind, making For the Love of the Game was very fun, and very fluent; it just came out. We went into the studio knowing what the album was going to be called and we were able to carry the vision through. We wanted to have a positive, bright, fun sounding record. That was our intent from the beginning. We trust that as people hear this record, God will use it to change lives. That’’s the ultimate fuel for our fire. When someone tells us, ‘‘your music changed my marriage, or brought me closer to God,’ that’s when we know God is using our music, and that’’s what it’s all about to us.” ~ MacKenzie Wilson, All Music Guide
Written by MacKenzie Wilson and Abel Ringvold
Pillar's sixth album, "Confessions," was released on September 22, 2009, claiming to show an evolved style but at the same time sticking close to the formula developed in For The Love Of The Game.
2. Pillar was a band that consisted of Dave Walker, who would later on do vocals for Harvest and Krakatoa, and Justin Kane, who would go on to drum for Disembodied and Martyr AD. Not much is known of Pillar other then a demo released in 1993, which was produced by Cad Dziewior (Threadbare, 108, Judas Factor, etc.)
3. Pillar was an emo band from Regina, Saskatchewan. Released their full length "Everyone is as Terrified as You Are" in 2001.

That's burning up inside
And I don't know what it means
But there's something I ain't tried
It feels like me against the nations
There's something I can't hide
And I don't care if you believe me
Nothing comes that easy
And nothing comes for free
Something comes from nothing
If you're willing to believe
'Cause everything has meaning
Everything we see
Are you willing to give up everything?
'Cause you don't need a revelation
To open up your mind
Break down all your reasons
And leave them all behind
'Cause it's takes faith for moving mountains
Strength to walk the line
Your apologies' accepted
There's nothing you can hide, believe me
Nothing comes that easy
And nothing comes for free
Something comes from nothing
If you're willing to believe
'Cause everything has meaning
Everything we see
Are you willing to give up everything?
Nothing comes that easy
Nothing comes for free
Something comes from nothing
If you're willing to believe
'Cause everything has meaning
Everything we see
Are you willing to give up everything?
Everything, everything
Something comes from nothing
If you're willing to believe
'Cause everything has meaning
Everything we see
Are you willing to give up
Give up everything?
Time will tell, time will tell
Time will tell everything
Time will tell, time will tell, time will tell
The song "Everything" by Pillar is an anthem about taking risks and being open to new experiences, even if it means giving up everything familiar. The first verse discusses a burning desire that the singer can't quite explain, but is willing to explore even if it goes against what others may believe. The lyrics "It feels like me against the nations, there's something I can't hide" suggest that following this desire may be a difficult journey, but it's one that the singer feels compelled to take regardless.
The chorus highlights that achieving great things in life takes effort and willingness to believe. There may be obstacles or setbacks, but if you're determined and persevere through them, something positive can come out of it. The lyrics "Nothing comes that easy, and nothing comes for free, something comes from nothing if you're willing to believe" illustrates that worthiness can only be achieved through hard work and dedication, but it's always worth the effort.
The second verse encourages listeners to be open-minded and willing to leave their old ways behind. It speaks to the idea that sometimes one must let go of their preconceived notions and biases to pursue a greater purpose. The lyrics "Your apologies' accepted, there's nothing you can hide, believe me" imply that the singer has already experienced this transformational journey, and it's one that they believe others can accomplish as well.
Overall, the song's message is about being courageous and taking risks. It's about not being afraid to explore new opportunities and striving for greatness. The song encourages listeners to have faith in themselves and to be willing to give up everything for what they believe in.

Everything
Tudo
Can't you feel that there is something
Você não consegue ver que há algo
That is burning up inside
Que queima por dentro
I don't know what it means
Eu não sei o que isso significa
But there's something that I ain't tried
Mas há algo que eu ainda não tentei
It feels like me against the nations
Parece comigo indo contra as nações
And it’s something I can't hide
E é algo que eu não posso esconder
I don't care if you believe me
Eu não ligo se os outros acreditam em mim
‘Cause it’s burning me alive
Porque está me queimando vivo
I tell you
Eu te digo
Nothing comes that easy
Nada vem assim tão fácil
Nothing comes for free
Nada vem espontaneamente
Something comes from nothing
Algo vem do nada
If you're willing to believe
Se você deseja acreditar
Everything has meaning
Tudo faz sentido
Everything we see
Tudo o que vemos
Are you willing
Você deseja se livrar de tudo?
To give up everything
You don't need a revelation
Para abrir sua mente
To open up your mind
Caiam por terra todas as suas razões
Break down all your reasons
Deixe todas para trás
Leave them all behind
Porque é preciso fé para mover montanhas
‘Cause it takes faith for moving mountains
E força de vontade para andar na linha
And strength to walk the line
Suas desculpas aceitas
Your apology accepted
E não há mais nada que você possa esconder
And there's nothing you can hide
Acredite em mim
Believe me
Time will tell
