PnB Rock hails from Pastorius and Baynton Streets in the Germantown section of Philadelphia โ thatโs where he found the โPโ and โBโ in his name. Thatโs also where he found himself in a bit of trouble.
When Rock was 13 years old, he got sent away to a youth detention program for fighting in school and committing robberies. When Rock turned 19, he was sent to prison; it was there where he learned to blend calming melodies with hard street stories.โThere were people up there singing in the yard. They were doing the same thing that I was doing, but they were serious with it,โ he remembers. โThere would be crowds around them and that was our entertainment, everybody loved it.โ PnB wrote his entire first mixtape RNB (Real Nigga Bangaz), while he was locked up and eventually released in 2014. โMy first mixtape was highly anticipated in my city and I drove around selling them hand-to-hand,โ he says, remarking that he barely made any money off the sales after he factored in the cost of gas. โIt was all love because people got to take pictures and meet me face-to-face.โ
The bubbling singer/songwriter explored his musical side; a side which was fueled by his motherโs massive CD collection which included albums from the Temptations as well as 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G. and Jay Z. โMy whole life I was surrounded by music. I didnโt really like anything else,โ he says. โI didnโt watch cartoons, I didnโt play sports, I just liked music, money and girls.โ
When RNB2 dropped in February 2015, Rockโs loyal following had propelled him way past his native Philly blocks. It was enough to earn the attention of a number of major labels, including Atlantic Records, where PnB Rock signed earlier this year.
If RNB and RNB2 laid the foundation, PnBโs newly released RNB3 will set the stage for a long career. Led by tracks like โFleekโ โ a song which Rock wrote during his last day in prison and now has over 2.4 million plays on SoundCloud โ RNB3 will be PnB Rockโs biggest yet.
On the Sonny Digital-produced โAlone,โ he opens up about his shortcomings as a man, admitting that he hasnโt been the most faithful. โMaybe I could turn down 10, but I canโt turn down 20,โ he sings about the amount of advances he gets on social media.
Then there are his more laid back tracks like โFeelin Like Diddyโ and โNo Time,โ better known as the ultimate hustlerโs anthem. โIโm just telling a female that I could give you whatever you want, but Iโm not trying to be tied down,โ he says. โI could entertain you and fuck with you, but donโt expect me to be committed to nobody. Iโm committed to the grind.โ
You see, when it comes to PnB Rock, itโs best to leave the flowers and candy behind. You wonโt be needing them. โI got a new sound for sure,โ he says. โI could touch different topics that these other artists canโt touch, because Iโm in the streets.โ
On September 12, 2022 PnB Rock died in a shooting at Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles in Los Angeles after his girlfriend posted their location on an Instagram story.

Huh
You talk too much about me
You make things up about me
That you would've came up about me
From people we love
I don't really care about this
And I don't ever waste a minute
You talk too much about me
You make things up about me, yeah
Why you wanna make things up
Why you wanna waste my time
Girl we used to be in love now
Now I don't really care about you no more
We used to be perfect, no it ain't working
All my niggas swerving, oh oh oh
Drop top coupes, girl you used to be my boo
Now you telling lies on me
Shawty, that's out of tune
Yeah yeah, drop top coupes
Girl you used to ride with me
Girl you used to slide with me
Now you telling lies on me
I don't really care about this
And I don't ever waste a minute
You talk too much about me
You make things up about me, yeah
You talk too much about me
You make things up about me
That you would've came up about me
From people we love
You talk too much about me
Say I don't show you love
You doubt me
I'ma roll one up, get cloudy
When my pockets wasn't up, you wasn't around me
Why you wanna roll one up
Why you keep calling my line
Girl you used too keep it G but
I don't need to smoke one with you
Drop top coupe, girl you used to be my boo
Now you see my brand new thing
Wishing you was in her shoes
I don't really care about this
And I don't ever waste a minute
You talk too much about me
You make things up about me
You talk too much about me
You make things up about me
That you would've came up about me
From people we love
I don't really care about this
And I don't ever waste a minute
You talk too much about me
You talk too much
You talk too
I, I, I, I, I
I know what I like
I know what I like from you (talk too much)
I know what you like
I know what you like from me (from me)
PNB Rock's "TTM" is a song about a failed relationship. The song starts off with PNB Rock dismissing the rumors and lies that his ex-girlfriend is spreading about him. He questions why she would make things up about him and waste his time. The chorus repeats a few times, emphasizing the fact that PNB Rock doesn't care about what his ex is saying and that she talks too much about him.
PNB Rock reminisces about his past relationship and notes that it used to be perfect, but now it's not working. He explains that his crew is now avoiding her as she's spreading lies. The second verse is directed towards his ex-girlfriend as he questions why she keeps calling him and wasting his time when he has moved on. He has a new girl now and he doesn't want to smoke or spend time with his ex anymore.
In the end, PNB Rock reiterates that he doesn't care about his ex-girlfriend and her lies. He knows what he likes and doesn't want anything to do with her. The song ends on a quiet note as PNB Rock moans about his ex-girlfriend talking too much about him.
