Queen Of All Queens
Popol Vuh Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Blond haired baby-doll
glamour-girl long and tall,
blue-eyed super-girl,
livin' in her beauty-world!

Red haired freckeled face,
fuckin' up the beauty-race.
She knows what she wants
and she knows how to get it.
She knows what to say
and she knows how to say it.

She's the queen of all queens
in her white washed jeans.
Get off your ass, get on your feet.
Get outta town real fast, cause baby
now you're the freak.

She thinks she looks good
in her see-trough underwear,
and maybe she does,
but in the morning who cares.

She's always in the spot
where the groove is going hot,
with that look in her eyes
that you're really not her size.
And everything she knows
is just a bunch of sweet lies.

She's the queen.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Popol Vuh's "Queen Of All Queens" paint a picture of two young women - one a "blond haired baby-doll" and the other a "red haired freckeled face". The former is described as a "blue-eyed super-girl" who lives in a "beauty-world", while the latter is portrayed as someone who is "fucking up the beauty-race". Despite this contrast, both women are presented as knowing what they want and how to get it - the blond haired girl knows what to say and how to say it, while the red haired girl is described as someone who "knows what she wants".

The title of the song refers to the blond haired girl, who is heralded as the "queen of all queens". She is the epitome of a certain kind of beauty - tall and slim, wearing "white washed jeans" and "see-through underwear". However, the lyrics make it clear that her beauty is not necessarily all that it seems - she may look good in the moment, but in the morning she is just like anyone else. The red haired girl, on the other hand, is presented as a rebel, someone who is not interested in conforming to society's beauty standards.

Overall, the lyrics of "Queen Of All Queens" seem to be critiquing the way that society values certain kinds of beauty over others. The song suggests that there is more than one way to be beautiful, and that those who conform to narrow beauty standards may not be as interesting or worthwhile as those who do not.

Kvil i fred, Jahn Teigen!

@nerd_in_norway

Du var den største artisten Norge har hatt i din generasjon. Sanger, komiker, entertainer, performer i verdensklasse. Hvil i musikken, hvil i kjærlighet, Jahn. ❤️

@SuperFata

Enkelte musiker/musikk-snobber ser rart på meg når jeg sier jeg har enorm respekt for og er fan av Jahn Teigen. Jeg antar at de ikke aner noe om denne delen av karrieren hans. Dette er så bra!
