Does It Matter
Power Of Dreams Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You could hardly keep it from me
The way that you're thinking
The words you write about me
But in my head I feel it happening
Once too often
Sometimes I wish it was someone else

And if I said what I meant would you believe me
And if I read what he said could I believe you
I just don't know
I just don't know
I never know
I never know

So Elden likes to play with boys
Do we really care
Should we really know
But in my heart I feel so sorry
Why does it happen
Can they get away

And if I said what I meant would you believe me
And if I read what he said could I believe you
Or would you say, I'll expose I'll reveal you to the world
Or would you say, I'll expose I'll reveal your inner thoughts
The way that you're thinking
The way that you're thinking
The way that you're thinking

Your life's an open book
Stripped for all the world to come inside
To come inside
Your life's the news of the world
Open the pages and take a look inside
You've nowhere left to hide

And if I said what I meant would you believe me
And if I read what he said could I believe you
And if I said what I meant would you believe me
And if I read what he said would you believe me
Could I believe you
Could I believe you
Could I believe you

Could I believe you
You

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Power of Dreams' song, "Does It Matter," explore themes of self-doubt, uncertainty, and the power dynamics that exist between individuals. The song opens with a line about how the singer can sense that someone is thinking about them and writing about them, but they are unsure of how to interpret these actions. The singer expresses a desire to be someone else and to escape from the weight of these thoughts and words.

The lyrics then shift focus to the topic of gossip and rumors. The singer references a person named Elden, who apparently "likes to play with boys." The chorus poses a series of questions about truth and credibility: if the singer were to speak honestly, would they be believed? If they were to read what someone else said, could they trust that person? The bridge draws a parallel between the subject of gossip and the media, suggesting that both open up people's lives for the world to scrutinize.

Overall, the lyrics of "Does It Matter" convey a sense of anxiety and ambiguity, as the singer struggles to navigate interpersonal relationships and distinguish truth from falsehood.

@@Stellar-Cowboy No, it would be more like eating pizza in a specific place, at a specific time, with the exact right lighting and position. I've dreamt things that eventually came true, things that are so complex there is no way they could be a coincidence.

For instance, I once had a dream that I was running around in a ravine in Minecraft, and then, as an intersecting ravine was coming up, someone came from the left and scared me. A couple weeks later, I was browsing a website for servers to check out, happened to find that exact one after an hour or so, happened to do the exact things required in order to be in that ravine at that very time. Those are some extremely low odds.

Another example is when I dreamt that my mother was pouring too much spice into the saucepan. At the time, I was also leaning toward the cabinet So, I just said "stop" and she immediately stopped, no questions asked or hesitation. Some time later and I leaned toward the cabinet, remembered my dream, said "stop" and she again stopped immediately, no questions asked.

Another one is when I was watching a YouTube video that had something to do with Jeff Bezos, clicked away onto the home button, and there was a YouTube video uploaded my Jacksepticeye and above that a video from Adam Ragusea. In real life a couple weeks later, those exact same chain of events happened. How do I know this wasn't a coincidence? The video from Jacksepticeye was uploaded minutes ago, at the time that it happened. Same general colors in there thumbnail, same order of events, same everything.

The one odd thing about my "future" dreams is that I never remember the main event, only what leads up to it. So, I can't affect what's going to happen unless I do so at the very last moment, such as not telling my mother to stop pouring spices.

I had a dream once while I was in rehab:

a girl who also attended the program came to me and said "Brian if you show people who you truly are, they will love you".

this was not something that was expected from that person in waking life, and I told my roommate about the incredibly vivid dream.

that day was her last day, and when we passed around notebooks, she wrote that exact sentence in mine.

freaked me out.

" Have you ever had a dream that came true ? "
" Many. "
As a kid I would get these visions and could not explain nor understand anything . Gradually I started writing these visions and then I saw a lot connect .
There were times I said stuff based on these visions and it would come true , making my mom believe I predicted that .

Dreams are gateways to the future offering a sneak peak, a vision, leaving u pondering about the things you saw ( if you remember ) . Certain dreams stand out from others leaving you searching for answers .

Either or both of the following things happen after a precognitive dream : -
The event happens ...
You make the meaning out of it and avoid it altogether (only if it's bad) ...
It's a lesson for you ... Only you to act upon .

Dreams connect us with our consciousness on a deeper level .

@attainteddragon529

I have had two dreams that have come to pass however this one stands out the most. The dream is of a school play, my eyes locked with somone whom i never met, somewhere i'd never been, seated 3 rows from the front and slightly left of the centre. Suprisingly i could feel my emotions in the dream. Joyous emotions filled me to a point i didn't know was real.
I awoke from the dream upset that this impossible high was no longer attained.
A year passes and i am asked what school i would like to attend. I proceed to tell my father a school name which i did not think about, nor did i even belive was a real school, followed up by the fact that i was informed that no one i knew had heard of said school.
A little google later and we discover it was a new school that started that same year, i then proceeded to become part of the group that joined on its second year of students.

A few months later through friends, i met said person from the dream. my first interaction with her i barely say a word. I was in scrambles trying to piece just how this is even possible.
They say you only dream of people you have seen before so how? How is this anomoly in front of me right now?

A year passes, we became close and i bought tickets to see a school play. you guessed it. she was a part of the play, not only that, she was one of the leading roles.
The day comes, i enter the room and am seated.... third row from the front. slightly left of the centre. The scene played out exactly how i had dreamed it, from the visuals to the emotions.

I could not belive i dreamt of my partner before i had met her in such detail years before ever laying eyes on her or hearing her voice.

10 years later and she is still my everything, she always will <3

@blooflazh7

I had multiple dreams that predicted the future.

One was very random, of my brother, and in the dream he was crying which was pretty out of character for him. Plus he didn't appear in my dreams very frequently. I thought nothing of it, but the next day he got into a huge fight with his ex girlfriend outside of our house, like acting in a way I haven't seen him before, borderline crying and just completely unhinged.

The next was of this girl I had a huge crush on. I had a dream that I was talking to this unknown girl, we were having a great time, and then out of nowhere she disappears and starts ignoring me. Then, I wake up, the girl I had a huge crush on out of nowhere disappeared and blocked me everywhere.

Could all be a coincidence, but still. Weird stuff.

Great video as always though!

The beauty/mystery of most future-telling dreams is that they do not require the dreamer's physical input.
If you are a spiritual person, you can(arguably) participate in stopping certain events of your dream from physically manifesting.
I experience future-telling dreams uncountable times per year.

Examples:
- two separate times last month, I dreamt of a knock on my door. When I woke up, about 20minutes later someone was knocking on my door.
- In two separate instances one in 2022 and another in 2018/19, I dreamt of my mentor that I haven't spoken to for weeks, jetting into the country and later in the same week, he physically jetted in.
- I have dreamt about people I meet and then the next day I meet them wearing the exact same clothes as they wore in the dreams
- I have dreamt of geopolitics and they happen.

Wierd how I had no physical input to any of the physical events.

In most of such dreams, the concept of time feels so ELASTIC. One scene in a dream may feel like 1000s of years ago while another scene in the same dream feels like a distant future.
Explaining the complex dreams to a normal/typical non-dreamer would make them think you are crazy so I just don't tell some.

We certainly see into the future and the PAST, however, my biggest desire is to understand how to invoke/trigger such dreams.
From my experience, I think writing notes of your previous dreams are some of the things that actually help increase the number/frequency of dreams.
The sad thing is you cannot decide which day to have a dream, it just happens without you triggering it.

One of the technologies I am watching closely is Neuralink, I hope they build it with an API for people to plug customizations into it.
I have this strong conviction that for dreams we have that we don't understand, they are still a reality bound to happen in someone else's physical world, hence if we work on technologies that curate all dreams and run recognition algorithms(face, voice, buildings, colour, aesthetic etc...), we could remap the future, and save lives. A giant dream cloud or dream repository.

The fact that we do not know how to harness our abilities makes me feel sad.

@tpsam

Not the next day but many many times throughout my life I dream about something that weeks or months later they will happen exactly like in the dream
First person experience POV
All the details touch sensation
For a few seconds I can totally recall this moment was from that dream a while ago

Also it's usually in new places I have never been to or doing something out of the ordinary so no déjà vu

But also sometimes during routine stuff

It already happened so often I am simply used to it for it's just normal and there is not enough scientific interest to actually conclude anything

My own conspiracy my brain leaked downloaded file before it was supposed to be displayed

Several times in my life I’ve dreamed things that happen in the future. Mostly it’s random things like vacations, or conversations… but I also dreamed I’d hit 100k on YouTube while at my parents house , while sitting on my bed (when I had the dream I didn’t even do YouTube) I completely forgot about the dream until I hit 100k, and it happened just like I dreamt. Spooky stuff

@Stellar-Cowboy

Not really spooky if you think about it.

@badjoj015

@@Stellar-Cowboy he said he completely forgot his dream of reaching 100k subs
until it happened and he reached 100k and hit him
it was spooky for him at that moment in time

@Stellar-Cowboy

@@badjoj015 honestly it’s not that spooky. It’s like dreaming of eating a pizza, then forgetting it, then eating a pizza the day after. Not that insane. Congrats to him for the 100k tho, that’s more insane

@@Stellar-Cowboy but he said when he had the dream, he had no plans of becoming a YouTuber.

Yes. The answer is just yes. I've had dreams about future events that happen where I get that de ja vu feeling during the actual real life event where I know exactly what is going to happen for a few seconds and this can be from a week or two in advance to months in advance which is nuts. Totally agree that us humans span across time and that we possibly re-connect with our past and future selves while we sleep.

i dreamed, when i was a kid, that i was near the front of my house , then a sudden
urgency/ dread feeling came from nowhere , and a motorbike crashed right infront of me. i woke up straight away as it felt soo real and awful compared to the rest of the floaty / chill dream, almost like the feeling inside is what really shows how real that part of the 'vision' is . when i woke up, i left out the front door to get in my mums car, a motorbike crashed in the same exact spot. then suddenly i got the same feeling inside and had a flashback to the dream. i told them about it, it was weird since it was instantly after the dream but also because i have no clue how my brain couldve predicted something like that. you could assume that our complex brain pattern seeking structure has routed out possibilities and plays them as visions, atleast that would be my guess, but there is no possible way my brain couldve predicted that, there was no correlative data whatsoever, completely random. ever since, i really believe that we can predict the future, for whatever reason, and theres alot more to this reality than most spend their lives believing. roll safe
