2.Praise (formed in 1991 in London, England) were a new-age music group, comprising Geoff MacCormack, Simon Goldenberg and Miriam Stockley as lead vocalist.
Praise released one self-titled album in 1991, reaching number 2 in the UK album charts. Praise mixes European dance beats with a variety of traditional world samples and styles, in a manner very similar to that of its contemporary peers such as Enigma. The tracks are "run together", linked with elements of a soundscape mixed in Qsound virtual surround sound. MacCormack and Goldenberg arranged and performed many of the instrumental parts, the latter providing the necessary computer programming. Stockley arranged and performed the lead and many backing vocals. All three have writing credits for Praise, and were supplemented by many other more specialised world performers.
Only You, track 10 from Praise, was used for a commercial for the Fiat Tempra. It was subsequently remixed by producers Andreas Georgiou (cousin of George Michael) and Peter Lorrimer, and went on to become a hit single that still features in "new-age" compilations today. Stockley's vocals for this track are sampled extensively in the dance track Fiji by Atlantis.
Praise disbanded some time after Praise was released; Stockley, in particular, would go on to acclaim by performing the lead vocals in Karl Jenkins's Adiemus albums. Praise itself has since gone out of print in the Western hemisphere, although international imports may still be available from Japan.

Autumn
Praise Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
But others have faults greater still
A noble profile was his rue
But many have done greater ill
And yet he would not show
His love, nor let her know
That she was dear
Though he was near
Now why was he the only man
To see himself not worth his prize?
About myself they plot and plan
How to find favour in my eyes
But never do they guess
That I might think them less
Than one who chose
Due to his nose
To love but not confess.
The lyrics of Praise's song Autumn depict a man who is deeply in love with a woman but fails to express his feelings to her. The opening lines of the song acknowledge the fact that the man had a flaw, but it was not as significant as the flaws of others. The reference to the noble profile being his rue is an insightful way to suggest that he attributed his insecurities and inability to express himself to his appearance. The man is afraid to reveal his true feelings to his lady, and he struggles with telling her how he feels even though they are close in proximity.
The second stanza of the song highlights why the man is afraid to tell the woman he loves how he feels. He does not consider himself worthy of her, and this mindset drives his behavior. The man is aware that others try to please him, but they fail to realize that he values individuality and authenticity over conformity. The man seems to have a preference for people who are honest and open about their feelings, and he might regard those who do not express themselves as less worthy than himself.
In conclusion, Autumn is a beautiful song that explores the theme of unrequited love and insecurity. It highlights the struggles of trying to reveal one's true feelings and the fear of rejection. It also underscores the importance of authenticity and individuality in relationships.
