Pree’s unique and lyrically driven experimental imaginings serve up a rare and colorful cocktail of style and substance within an irresistible pop realm.
After returning to DC following several months of touring in 2011 & 2012, the members of Pree took time to reorient themselves, and with the sudden halt of motion came reexamination of the self and of relationships.
'Pree', the individual singer is from Detroit and in recent years has appeared in the movie 'Standing in the shadows of Motown'. She appeared on Bandtraxs Records 'Suddenly There's You' and 'Detroit (city by the river)' which she is co writer.

Nearly breaking every tooth
That's rattled long in a grin that's gone
And fallen out of use
Short of making an arrow-straight escape
Below a cough
I couldn't say that you've found yourself a gait
There's a reason to stay in the weeds
And as long as you're laughing
And seeking them out
You can come and go as you please
And know that you're only
As tall as you sound
Put your shovels down now and tell me
What you're worth
By beating blue
Every inch of too-forgiving earth
For giving through
He's happy being a nickel to your purse
And living to see the day
That you count yourself for worse
And send him deep into the water
They never keep, the faces that you seek
And you can hardly calm them or tease a smile
Out of what will never hold a crease
(Though it couldn't hurt to palm them
The smallest while)
I could try and round up the darlings
That we sent to play
But they're only ours when
They're far away
It's a lying tongue that lifts you high
It's only as strong as you are light
And eager to buy
What's yours to take
(I heard foolish girls
Grow shorter
By the
Day)
There's a saying that sounds in the deep
You know, you know
But you want to be told
What was playing that drew you to sleep
But nothing to speak of has pulled on your lobes,
And nothing to speak of
Has left you alone
In Pree's song "Fortune," the lyrics are reflective of the singer's life journey and the experiences they have had. The song starts with the singer acknowledging someone else's intentions towards them, which is causing them discomfort. The person's smile, which was once friendly, has now become a thing of the past, and the singer no longer recognizes them. The singer contemplates making an escape, but it seems the other person has found their gait and path. The singer chooses to remain hidden and in obscurity, preferring to be happy and laugh.
As the song progresses, the singer encourages someone to tell them their worth, to evaluate themselves based on the things they have done. Additionally, the song talks about how one person is content being the other person's companion, even though they are treated poorly.
Moving further in the song, the singer acknowledges that the people they seek are never there when they need them. They wish to bring back fond memories, but the memories are only relived in their minds. The singer warns against the temptation of seeking false validation and praises those who grow wiser from their experiences.
Overall, the song Fortune by Pree has a somber and melancholic tone, yet it encourages the listeners to be content with the journey, regardless of the outcome.

I always like playing this game so much. But the reason I want to ask you is that I'm at the end of the line at level 670 in the Dubrovnik area for about two months now, and I am getting sick and tired of being stuck there. I just can't take it anymore! Please tell me when the next destination will be ready so I can finally leave Croatia and send my game frame someplace else! I want to know what the next stop is... now!
