Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si, a song from the Bollywood movie Life in a Metro, is a soulful ballad about unspoken words and unheard sounds that connect two people in love. The song describes an unusual yet enchanting feeling that one experiences when in love. The lyrics suggest that sometimes words aren't enough to express what we feel, and certain unseen connections are what matters most. The song also touches upon the idea that love can be unpredictable and uncontrollable.
The first two lines of the song "Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si Kuch Ansunee Si Hone Lagi" signifies how some of the things the singer wants to say remains unsaid and unheard. The next verse talks about how the heart is not in control when one is in love. Instead, it's the heart that controls us. The line, "Shayad Yehi Hai Pyaar" means, "Maybe this is love." The lyrics suggest uncertainty and confusion, but at the same time, it represents hope and belief that love may be possible. The song ends with a beautiful analogy, "Tu Hi Meri Roshni Hai Tu Hi Chirag Hai," which means, "You are my light, and You are my lamp."
