Early life
Pritam was born in Kolkata into a Bengali family. Pritam is the son of Prabodh Chakraborty, who runs a music school for children. Pritam gained his early training in music from his father and learned to play the guitar while still in school.
After completing his schooling at St. James' School and college education at Presidency College, he went to a music school. In January 1993, Pritam joined the Film and Television Institute in Pune to undertake a course in sound recording and sound engineering. During this time, he was offered a chance to compose background music for a film by Hungarian filmmaker Istvan Gaal. He also learned African music from musicologist Kedar Avati.
Career

Pritam got his first break when Gadhvi was signed on to direct Tere Liye and he, in turn, signed on his friends Jeet and Pritam as music composers. Though the music was well received, the film sank at the box office. However, in 2002 Yashraj Films signed Gadhvi up to direct Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai, for which the Jeet-Pritam duo once again composed the music. All the songs from that movie were chartbusters, and the duo had hit the big time. His music comprises various kinds including Indian classical music and western influences. Pritam was then actively involved in mentoring and judging new talent on Zee TV's singing competition show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2009.

Pritam Lyrics

Ghamon ki aag mein tap ke suraj, tu ban gaya
Chaani jo khaak to mitt ke sona, tu ban gaya
Ghamon ki aag mein tap ke suraj, tu ban gaya
Aaj paaya hai tune, sab kho ke mureeda
Mili jannat tujhe to, jab bigda naseeba
Fakeera - 5 times
Aye bekhabar tu benoor ho ke roshan ho gaya
Bhari yeh khaali si jholi jo tu bhatka dar badar
Yeh bhi na jaane yeh kaafir ki dua ka hai asar
Jo taare se toota, sab khwahish milegi
Zara haathon ko phailaa, mannatein sab milengi
Hua tabah aur hadd se zyada khoya jab qaraar
Udhi udhi tab saansein jaise udta hai gubaar
Socha kare kis pal mein dil ko raahat hai mili
Khuda ke ghar mein taalim tujhko gir ke jab mili
Aaj paya hai tune, sab kho ke mureeda
Mili jannat tujhe to jab bigda naseeba
Fakeera - 5 times

The song also speaks of finding hope and solace in unexpected places. The lines "Haathon se nikli manzil jab yeh daaman chooth gaya, Aye bekhabar tu benoor ho ke roshan ho gaya" are a reminder to keep moving forward even when it seems like everything is falling apart. The song suggests that by persevering through hardships, one can ultimately find a way to shine.
The chorus of the song, "Fakeera", which repeats five times throughout the song, speaks to the idea of humility and simplicity in the face of adversity. The notion of being a fakeera, or a humble person without material possessions, is presented as a source of strength and resilience.
Overall, "Fakeera" is a song about hope, perseverance, and the power of transformation in the face of adversity.

Never ignore a person who loves you, cares for you, misses you. Because one day, you might wake up from your sleep and realize that you lost the moon while counting the stars💝
