It's an Omen x3

Now!
The Writing's on the wall
It won't go away
It's An Omen
You just run on automation
Now!
The Writing's on the wall
It won't go away
It's An Omen x3

Now!
The Writing's on the wall
It won't go away
It's an Omen
You just run on automation
Now! X2

Now!
The Writing's on the wall
It won't go away
It's an Omen
You just run on automation

Now!
The Writing's on the wall
It won't go away
It's an Omen x3

Now!

It's An Omen
Now! X4

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Prodigy's song "Omen" speak to the inevitability of the future, specifically in regards to negative events that seem to be looming on the horizon. The repetition of the phrase "It's an Omen" emphasizes this sense of impending doom, as if the singer is warning the listener of something they cannot avoid. The imagery of "The Writing's on the wall" also suggests that these events are already set in motion and cannot be changed.

The idea of running on automation adds to this sense of helplessness and lack of control. It's as if the singer and the listener are simply going through the motions of their lives, unable to escape the fate that awaits them. This idea is reinforced by the repetition of the verse and chorus, as if the song is a cycle that cannot be broken.

Overall, "Omen" is a powerful meditation on the nature of fate and our ability to change it. It's a warning and a call to action, urging the listener to acknowledge the signs of what's to come and maybe even try to fight against it, even if the odds seem insurmountable.

It's so self referencing but still so fresh. I love it.

Many musicians tend to shun their early work, especially if it becomes "unfashionable" or subjectively less intelligent or evolved as later stuff.

But this track is like a big declaration of "fuck that, I'm PROUD of everything we've done"

It's like the spirit of their earlier stuff but re-mastered in 4k HDR and then a sprinkle of all other other periods in their career.

Some critics considered it a lazy re-tread but I see it more as a celebration of their music and not being afraid to look back and acknowledge where they came from while still moving forward.

People can say what they like about "this kinda music", but only real fans of all kinds of music, and only people with a real ear for music can tell that a LOT of work went into this!
