1) Albert Johnson (born November 2, 1974 in Bradford, Brooklyn, New York and died on June 20, 2017 in Las Vegas), better known by his stage name Prodigy, was a member of the hip hop duo Mobb Deep. Prodigy worked as a solo artist since the early 2000s. He was born to parents of Ethiopian and Jamaican descent. Prodigy was born with sickle cell anemia and suffered from the disease throughout his life. Propelled to awareness partially by fellow Queens, New York rapper Nas, who took a similar approach lyrically on his championed "Illmatic" album from 1994, as well as with the aid of a successful single, "Shook Ones Pt. 2," Mobb Deep suddenly found themselves developing a quickly growing cult. A year later, in 1996, Prodigy and Havoc released "Hell on Earth"; debuting at number six on SoundScan, the album found them fully realizing their approach, dropping both evocative beats and cinematic rhymes that communicated the dark side of New York's urban landscape. Thanks to a grim video for "Hell on Earth (Front Lines)" and theatrical Scarface-like photos inside the CD booklet picturing the duo with guns and a mound of cocaine, Mobb Deep had created an elaborate image for themselves that took hardcore gangsta rap to a new level for East Coast hip hop. Their next release, "Murda Muzik", was heavily bootlegged while still in its demo stage, leaking rough versions of the nearly 30 songs the duo had recorded onto the streets and over the internet.
Months after the bootlegs leaked and after several pushed-back street dates, "Murda Muzik" was formally released, debuting at number three on the Billboard charts and quickly going platinum on the strength of "Quiet Storm," a song that epitomized the Mobb Deep style. The album was welcomed by critics, who again lauded the group's lucid cinematics, driven primarily by Havoc's production. In late 2000, Prodigy finally released his long-rumoured solo album, "H.N.I.C.", which saw the more lyrically gifted member of the group collaborating with outside producers such as The Alchemist and Rockwilder on tracks that didn't depart far from the trademark sullen Mobb Deep style. Their follow-up, "Infamy", was the duo’s last album for Loud, distributed by Columbia Records and was, for some, a disappointment lyrically and musically, while others praised it as amongst the best rap albums of the year. Loud was absorbed by its new distributor shortly afterwards.
Mobb Deep then signed with Jive, under a unique deal that gave the duo its own imprint, Infamous Records, and released "Amerika'z Nightmare", a very uneven effort, which featured production by The Alchemist and Lil' Jon. However, despite a successful single that featured a Thomas Dolby sample. The duo was not happy with Jive, and were let go at its request. The duo took a hiatus afterwards and came back in 2006, signing to 50 Cent’s Interscope/Universal-distributed G-Unit imprint. Their well-hyped "Blood Money" was a failure from the money side when compared to fellow label mates like 50 Cent, Young Buck and Lloyd Banks. Some accused the duo of selling out, with their beats and rhymes not up-to-par with previous efforts on Loud.
He completed work on his third solo album "H.N.I.C. Part 2", which was previewed on his official mixtape "The Return of the Mac" on the independent label Koch Records. The mixtape single and mixtape video are called "Mac 10 Handle," and it shows Prodigy once again reverting to his trademark braids that he had prior to the release of Mobb Deep's 2004 "Amerika'z Nightmare" album; different from the short fade he had from 2004 to 2006. "H.N.I.C. Pt. 2 was released through Voxonic Inc., of which Prodigy is an equity holder.

Come here darling, have a seat, we need to speak
Look straight in my eyes, tell me what you see?
Is it that same nigga that you fell for from the door
Ain't I that same nigga we was both on the train goin' hard
And then your shit surfaced
Takin' the phone in the bathroom, whisperin' wit your girlfriends
Try to play me on some jerk shit
Oohh shit
Kid, I kept it tight for you
Turned niggas down, didn't go out all them nights for you
And I ain't even that type of bitch
I heard about Jones Beach and Luke's Freak Fest
Nevertheless I still put my faith in you
You was my dog, so I stayed faithful
But I'll be goddamned if I be some nigga dumb bitch
It's fucked up it gotta go down like this
Yo, have you ever had a bitch that'll pop guns for you?
Type of nigga you'll do anything he ask to?
Snake bitch turn around and backstab you?
Crab nigga found out he fuckin' 'round too?
Threw her cash, threw in the smash, that's boo
Rockin' your 4 wheel drive and tattoo
Talk sweet thinkin' that he rockin' you to sleep?
Who me? Fall for that bullshit, you got it twist
You was once my bunny, now you want to act funny
I'm that same nigga from the first day who dress bummy
Same grimy style nigga, I'm still hungry
I never lost my thirst for takin' that money
I never lost my lust for chicks lovely
You met me on those terms, so that's how I'm runnin'
I still walk up in the crib 5 in the mornin'
And still count my cash before I crash
What you thought, you had a dunny? I ain't the one honey
You skim 20's out of my stacks of Benny's
You done found yourself a street life love, to death do us
Remember that shit, now everything's ass-backwards
We was more like Mickie and Mallory
You fouled out on me, found another man math in your Bally bag, damn
I wish you luck though, you sneaky bum ho
Catch you on the corner while I pass in my truck though
Yeah aight
First of all fuck you, and everything you own nigga
You got a lotta nerve, nigga
I should throw a brick through your shit, fuck your whips
It ain't about that, it's about you givin' out my dick
Or so it seems, I can only call it how I see it
Got hoes callin' the crib, hangin' up not speakin'
Come on, what type of shit is that?
What, I'm supposed to sit back, stay up all night for you to get back?
Like the world revolves around P
So while you strolled in at 5 I was comin' in at 3, 3:30
Niggas wanna play dirty
Fuck it, that's how you wanna rock? Let's get dirty
Yeah, condom wrappers in the back of the Azure
Talkin' 'bout you let your mans get off, your G ain't strong
I'm gone, you ain't worth the tears
You lost the best thing you ever had in your life, a waste of my years
Have you ever had a bitch that'll pop guns for you?
Type of nigga you'll do anything he ask to?
Snake bitch turn around and backstab you?
Crab nigga found out he fuckin' 'round too?
Threw her cash, threw in the smash, that's boo
Rockin' your 4 wheel drive and tattoo
Talk sweet thinkin' that he rockin' you to sleep?
Who me? Fall for that bullshit, you got the wrong bitch
I might give out, but I'll never give in
We might as well, be friends, yes we have
The song "Trials of Love" by Prodigy is about the trials and tribulations of a relationship, specifically one that has gone sour due to infidelity and betrayal. The song's lyrics involve a conversation between two former lovers, both of whom are trying to come to terms with the end of their relationship. The male protagonist confronts his former girlfriend, accusing her of cheating and lying to him. He talks about the hurt and betrayal he feels, and how he can't believe someone he loved and trusted could do him wrong.
The female protagonist tries to justify her actions, claiming that she had her reasons for cheating and that their relationship was never perfect. She talks about how she stayed faithful to him despite hearing rumors of his infidelity, only to find out that he had been unfaithful as well. The song ends with both parties acknowledging that they have made mistakes in the relationship, but that they can still try to move forward as friends.
