I hate horror and I hate scary songs but this is so nice. I love the song and I agree this is good as anime or a song for a horror game.
So my theory in this is the family is cursed for unknown reason that turned them to what they want in a twisted way at night when the moon is out.
Or one of the family member (the father or the daughter) contact a spirit to get what they want but make them crazy in the end and bring upon a curse to the whole family.
Or maybe they all become greedy and a spirit punish their souls to make them do what they want on their selves and do it in unending cycle as long as their souls are in this world to make them suffer the consequences of their greed.
In all of of this theories it all comes when the night comes they appear and ask for help but when they realize the person can't. Either they try to scare or manipulate her and kill the person in process or They simply kill her thinking they will forgiven.

Okay. Let me start by saying that I was inspired by an earlier comment made on here, wondering when someone would start theorizing about the meaning of the song. I have taken it upon myself to kind of hypothisize based on the lyrics, the art, and just the general theme of things, and, while I'm most likely horribly wrong, I thought it would be fun to try.
Now then.
It's pretty obvious that something horrible happened at good ol' Phantasmagoria Drive. Three out of four of the characters seem mutilated in some way or the other, and the fourth, who I'll be calling the "Father", has his face obscured in a very ominous way- so we can kind of be sure that there's some spooky shit going on with ghosts and hauntings. But my big question is: what triggered this?
I have two theories:
1. The Father slowly went mad without any real supernatural influence, and then went on a killing spree before dying himself.
2. A similar case to the above scenario, except there's some kind of curse placed upon the house itself that caused the Father to go cuckoo for cocoa puffs.
You might be wondering why I leapt to the conclusion that the Father murdered at some point, and what my evidence is, but I'll get to that soon. For now, let's look into each room/character individually, and pick things apart from there.
The "Father": Throughout his song, the Father constantly points out how he's going crazy, gone mad, and is generally not of a stable state of mind. That much is obvious. However, in the beginning, he says, "Hear of the act brought upon my soul". That makes it seem like something happened to him, or some crime was committed against him. Of course, it could just be the rambling of a paranoid lunatic, but it could also serve as a hint that he was influenced into his current state somehow- or, at the very least, cursed into haunting the house. He also mentioned that he was "spirited away by the house", which could also support the "driven to madness" theory. Notably, during the "flashes" that show the true forms of the inhabitants, the Father doesn't seem to show any signs of injury or mutilation like the others- only having his face obscured, shirt bloody, and a slasher smile. This, combined with his lyrics, leads me to believe that his big crime was that he attacked one of the others- and I believe that the victim is the next character brought up.
The "Mother": Well, isn't her song comforting? The lyrics almost make it seem like she went crazy, too, and started hacking herself up, then cooked and served herself up like meat. I originally thought this, too, until I took a closer look at her injuries. She's been stabbed in the arms several times with silverware, had half of her legs chopped off, and a part of what's left carved up like a Christmas day ham, and, just to rub salt in the wound, an apple stuffed into her mouth. Even if she had gone completely out of her mind, I doubt that she'd be able to even hack up one leg before succumbing to shock or blood loss. The entire thing just smacks of someone doing this to her, plus, out of all of the inhabitants, she seems the least malevolent. In fact, during her song, she seems somewhat cheerful and welcoming, even if her lyrics carry an unfortunate double meaning in this case. At the very least, she seems like the most innocent in the whole crime, and was probably just a victim of circumstance.
The "Son: This is where things got a bit confusing for me. The Son seems like he's very (rightfully) paranoid and depressed, and a part of his song ("See myself, and forget...all my dreams, and regrets") seems like he distracted himself in the mirror, or became obsessed over his reflection. He mentions that he's a monster in this, which threw me off. There's multiple theories I have to what happened to him. 1. He assisted his father in the killing, then grew horrified, and eventually killed himself, or 2., his combined fear and loathing drove him to see himself as a source of all of this/some kind of monster/something along those lines, he got obsessed with his reflection, then killed himself. Most likely caused by the mirror, as in the attic scene, you can see a soft glow coming from the frame. Either way, both outcomes point greatly to some kind of depression and eventual suicide, as, by the looks of it, he broke the mirror, cut a smile into his face, then died.
The "Daughter": And I thought the Son was confusing, hoo boy. It's pretty obvious that she's fixated on her looks and perfection, and is just vain in general. She gives herself several compliments, and just seems kind of uncaring about the whole situation. There are a few lines that confuse me ("...Glowing so fair, yet my sin...Born into death on my face, beauty I claimed in its place") and ("Traded for a price. As I slice away all the imperfections it sees.") It took me a while of thinking, but I do have my theories. Like the Father and Son, she could have gone mad, and started cutting herself up/mutilating herself in order to look "perfect". However, I also have another theory, which might be a bit more out there- but bear with me here. Her lyrics are very cold and self-obsessed, and her true form is very "doll-like"- slits around the eyes and under the mouth, lips stitched into a smile. However, I also noticed that she also looks a bit like a puppet, given the state of her mouth, as well as her limbs (notably puppetlike, and not really humanlike. I doubt that something of that level could be entirely self-inflicted). A part of me wonders if the Daughter made some kind of deal in order to be "perfect", and was somehow responsible for the curse being laid on Phantasmorgia.
At the end, in the attic, it's implied that the entire family kills the protagonist. This might seem strange, given how they had previously been begging him/her to free them from their curse, so one might just dismiss it of them being just evil, murderous ghosts. This is likely, but I noticed the lyrics here, too. ("Freedom forges, flowing life, fountain") For some reason, this makes me think that maybe the spirits believe that, by killing or using the living protagonist in some way, they'll be freed from their curse somehow, although I'm not quite sure.
But yeah, that's all just my own two cents on everything. If y'all have any differing opinions or theories, or have any other evidence, feel free to let me know! I'm not claiming to be Sherlock or anything, so I'm probably very wrong. Just wanted to theorize. :)

Something to note, the chorus keeps having conflicting meanings, the mother believes that she and her family can still go to heaven by the lyrics "The moon will claims our spirits" while the father believe he will go to hell with the lyrics "Down to the earth As it claims our spirit" the mother hold onto hope while father despairs. Additionally, the lyrics be down for a fright, its like a warning to the protagonist. She's the spirit who most likely will help you and the least to kill you
