Do You Know?
Prose and Concepts Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You do that
Thing you do
(Get down on it
Get down on it)
How do
You do that
(Get down on it
Get down on it)
One look in my direction
Girl you know the deal
Try to test me out
See if I’m for real
Question my affection
Second guess my nerve
Speak to you with action
Its louder than words.
Only you
Have me on my toes
Walkin on egg shells
Hope that I don’t blow
Once in a life time
Opp.or.tu.ni.ty
Must be magic
What you do to me
How do
You do that
Thing you do
(Get down on it
Get down on it)
How do
You do that
Thing you do
(Get down on it
Get down on it)
Shawty got a big ole
Tell her shake em up
Shake em
Both sides of ya heart
Baby girl I won’t break em
Both sides of ya love
Grip both sides the hips
Bitin on her lip
That’s a O sign to dip
What a trip
Booty jammin
Like a house party
Lookin back
Im just lookin
Like damn
What you do to me
Tryna take my soul
For hers
Like its poetry
She like to get
Straight to business
Like its jodeci
Strictly lover and friends
Only allowed
One hit a doja
Just might buy the cow
Old saying of milk
But shit aint free
She be thinkin bout me
Just a C-O-N-C-E-P-T
Late night till
The early mornin
Make a trick look easy
Make it flip
She performing
Drug warning
Got lil homie hooked
No peter pan
Hot damn
How do
You do that
Thing you do
(Get down on it
Get down on it)
How do
You do that
Thing you do
(Get down on it
Get down on it)
How do
You do that
Thing you do
(Get down on it
Get down on it)
How do
You do that
Thing you do
(Get down on it
Get down on it)
The lyrics to Prose and Concepts' song "Do You Know?" convey the singer's fascination and admiration for someone who possesses a unique and captivating ability. The song begins with questioning the person's skill or talent: "How do you do that thing you do?" The repetition of this line, paired with the energetic command to "get down on it," suggests a sense of awe and curiosity.
As the verses unfold, it becomes apparent that the person in question has a profound effect on the singer. The lyrics describe the individual's impact on both the singer's emotions and behavior. They remark on how this person can make them feel anxious yet eager, as expressed by the phrase "have me on my toes, walkin on egg shells, hope that I don’t blow." The singer also emphasizes the rarity and magic of this connection, referring to it as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
In the second verse, the lyrics take a more sensual turn, with references to physical attraction and intimacy. The singer describes the person's bodily features, specifically their hips and lips, indicating a deep desire to engage intimately with them. The lyrics also touch upon the idea of a transactional relationship, with lines like "Just might buy the cow, old saying of milk" suggesting a desire for commitment in return for the singer's intense feelings.
