The End of Us
Prozak feat. Sid Wilson of Slipknot Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

[Verse 1]
How many times must you try, must you fail?
Freedom is a state of mind, transcended through hell
Give it up, walk away
You must comform to the norm
You been a slave to the grind from before you was born
Product of enviroment, must obey 'till retirement
You see the shackling chains hang from the monument
A hundred lives for every question you ask
You spent in animations like it's contradicts from the past

[Chorus] x2
Extortion
Distortion
The words that they believe
My friend this is the end of us
Abortion
Emotion
To force upon the weak
So great this is the end of us

[Verse 2]
The brother then is sent strange through the hourglass
You're in a spirit filled with rage as the hours pass
You can't describe how contrived is the final math
And your salvation all relies on financial class
Right now is the rise and the fall
Clenching up your fists with your back against the wall
You must fight for your lives with your eyes on the ball
If it trade through the gates and repel down the walls

[Chorus] x2
Extortion
Distortion
The words that they believe
My friend this is the end of us
Abortion
Emotion
To force upon the weak
So great this is the end of us

[Verse 3]
Alright, stop, listen
What's that sound?
Just think for a minute
And discover what is going down
You farm bred to become consumers
But who consumes who in this land of maneuvers?
The crafty ways in this maze
End of days, a perfect match for the empty graves
It's about time we think for ourselves
It's the right time to put the lies on the shelves
What!

[Chorus] x2
Extortion
Distortion
The words that they believe
My friend this is the end of us
Abortion
Emotion

To force upon the weak
So great this is the end of us

Overall Meaning

The lyrics in Prozak's song The End of Us, featuring Sid Wilson of Slipknot, are quite powerful and address a variety of societal issues. In the first verse, the lyrics discuss the idea of conformity and how people are often slaves to societal norms from the moment they are born. The imagery of shackling chains hanging from a monument adds to the idea of being trapped and unable to break free from these norms. The chorus speaks to the idea of extortion and the manipulation of weaker individuals for personal gain.

The second verse delves into the concept of class and how financial status can affect one's salvation. The lyrics mention the rise and fall of society and the need to fight for survival. This fight is depicted as a battle, and the use of the phrase "clenching up your fists" adds to the intensity of the situation. The chorus is repeated, emphasizing the theme of corruption and how it leads to the eventual end of society.

The final verse urges listeners to think for themselves and to break free from the cycle of consumerism. The phrase "who consumes who" is particularly thought-provoking and highlights the idea that those in power may themselves become consumed by their own greed. The lyrics end with a call to action, encouraging individuals to put an end to the lies and manipulation that perpetuate the downfall of society.

Overall, the song addresses themes of societal corruption, conformity, and financial inequality. It offers a powerful message about the importance of individualism and the need to fight against systems that oppress weaker individuals.

I completely forgot this absolute banger existed, until someone I work with mentioned Prozac then I was like “wait a sec”

@PaintballHazard

I love seeing Sid scratch like he use to when Slipknot was good. Prozak can throw out some meaningful laid back raps then break out into angry metal. Love it!

@Markymark1993

Prozak does a kick ass job of mixing rap and rock together

@jacoblillard6612

Sid never fails to end up on a badass song

@InfernalGeneral666

Myself being a fan of metal and the kind or rap that Strange Music has always been about, I appreciated every damn song on Paranormal. It's been YEARS since I found an album I could listen to from start to finish without skipping a single track. Not to mention listening to it about 3 or 4 times each day. Prozak's lyrics and delivery are just....Fuuuck. Best album in a long time.

@Zeke03

This is sick. I could watch that drummer all day.
