Prussian Blue Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴

As I sit here staring,

My heart is yearning,

For just one glance,

From you.
As my heart's here pounding,

As our eyes are bounding,

All I ever wanted was you,

Maybe someday.

All I ever wanted,

Was to feel wanted,

All I ever got,

No one wants.

As you're out there staring,

My hearts not caring,

For the stupid glance,

From you.

As I'm up here standing,

You're out there standing,

What I was wanting,

I don't want it anymore.

Overall Meaning

In these lyrics, Prussian Blue captures the longing and desire for connection and validation that many people can relate to. The opening lines reflect the singer's intense yearning, as they sit and stare, hoping for just one glance from the object of their affection. This sets the tone for a theme of unrequited love or unfulfilled desires throughout the song.

The following lines express the singer's strong emotional response, as their heart pounds and their eyes meet with the other person's. There is a sense of desperation in the repetition of "all I ever wanted was you," emphasizing the depth of their longing and the importance of this particular person. The phrase "maybe someday" suggests a thread of hope, a glimmer of possibility that this desired connection might eventually be realized.

The next stanza reveals a sense of disappointment and a longing for acceptance. The repetition of "all I ever wanted" now shifts from the desired person to the general feeling of being wanted in return. The singer expresses a deep sense of not being desired or valued, and these lyrics capture the emotional pain that can come from feeling overlooked or ignored.

In the final stanza, there is a shift in perspective and attitude. The singer acknowledges that while they were once fixated on the attention and glance from the person they desired, they now realize that they no longer care about it. There is a sense of growth and self-discovery, as they claim their own worth and reject the idea that they are defined by the attention of others. This change in mindset suggests a realization of their own inherent value, independent of external validation.

Overall, Prussian Blue's lyrics in this untitled song capture the intense longing, disappointment, and eventual self-empowerment that can come with unrequited love and the pursuit of recognition. It speaks to the common experience of yearning for connection and validation, while also highlighting the importance of self-worth and the acceptance of one's own value.

challenge accepted:
the double ring with the two ketone groups and the four nitrogens is caffeine,
the benzyl ring with the carboxylic acid group and the hydroxyl group is 2-ol-1-benzoic acid (sorry about the naming), otherwise known as salicylic acid
the molecule above the caffeine is 2-acetoxybenzoic acid, also known as aspirin
the molecule with iron in it is obviously the ferrocyanide (you missed the 4- there, by the way)
the molecule in the middle of the top, next to the aspirin is 2-methyl indole
the molecule to the top left of the salicylic acid is menthol
the molecule in the middle has the formula C20H19N202 and I literally typed that into the browser and its common name is dun dun dun... Nile red http://atb.uq.edu.au/molecule.py?molid=102121 (I'm guessing you named your channel after that?)
ok the chemical formula of the last molecule in the bottom middle is C20H2ON3+ and it's called... dun dun dun... Nile blue.
