Pyramides Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
In these lyrics from Pyramides's song "Atlántida," there are various interpretations that can be derived from the imagery and the emotions conveyed. The first verse starts with "Es un intento y va," which can be translated as "It's an attempt and it goes." This line suggests that the song is exploring something new or embarking on a journey of discovery.
The next line, "Una rara mezcla, amalgama," translates to "A strange mix, amalgam." This implies that the subject matter or theme of the song is a unique combination, not easily categorized or defined. It suggests that the song is an experimentation, blending different elements or influences.
The reference to Avellaneda, a city in Argentina, with "De todo el viento igual sale de Avellaneda" adds a geographical aspect to the song. This line suggests that the emotions or sentiments expressed in the song are universal and can be felt regardless of location. It indicates that the song's message transcends boundaries and reaches a wide audience.
"Al centro irán, mis ojos apuntan" can be translated as "They will go to the center, my eyes aim." This line signifies a focus on some central aspect or idea. It suggests a sense of purpose and determination, as if the singer's eyes are locked onto their goal.
Moving on to the chorus, "Es Atlántida, tan cerca el mar" translates to "It's Atlantis, so close to the sea." This line evokes nostalgia and a yearning for a place that may be mythical or only exists in dreams. The mention of Atlantis alludes to a lost paradise or utopia, and the proximity to the sea symbolizes a connection to nature and vastness.
The following line, "Una perfecta estación, una perfecta estación," repeats the phrase "A perfect station." This repetition emphasizes the theme of perfection and stability. It could be interpreted as a longing for a peaceful state of being or a desire to find harmony within oneself or in a specific place.
In the second verse, "Un punto negro más, un dibujo en el mapa" translates to "One more black dot, a drawing on the map." This line suggests the insignificance of the individual in the grand scheme of things. It conveys a sense of being just another dot on the map, a speck in the vast universe.
"Una diagonal, es una mancha más" translates to "A diagonal, it's just another stain." This line highlights the mechanical nature of life, suggesting that individuals are simply part of a larger pattern or system. It conveys a sense of detachment or resignation, as if the singer accepts their insignificance in the grander scheme of things.
The mention of "una constelación, tan mecánica" can be translated as "a constellation, so mechanical." This line further emphasizes the theme of mechanical existence, suggesting that life operates according to predetermined patterns or rules. It adds a sense of impersonality and detachment to the overall interpretation of the lyrics.
Overall, "Atlántida" by Pyramides explores the themes of personal journeys, longing for a paradise or utopia, and the insignificance of the individual within the grand scheme of things. It conveys a sense of searching and longing for something beyond the mundane, while acknowledging the mechanical and predetermined nature of existence.
