Storm
Qing Feng Wu Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Have I seen you somewhere?
Heard a wind calling names
Holding on, holding on, howling
(I've been) waiting for you out there
Heard the rain chanting pain
Holding on, holding on, a warning

It took some time and it took some hope
And like a coward, I waited at home
I wrapped my hands around you in the dark
To see what happens to the heart

Take me up, then keep me high
Never let me go before
You teach me how to fly
Take me up, then keep me high
'Cause above the rain, above the clouds
It's always bright

Hurricane come again
Lift me up, forgive me Earth
I'm going away

Did I see you stand there?
When the sun burns your air
I'm with you, I'm with you, feel for you
(I've been) asking you, hide away (save me)
When the storm on your way
I'm with you, I'm with you, here for you

It took some time and it took some tears
To learn the lesson of killing fears
I'm breathing out and I release the hold
To see what happens to the soul

Take me up, then keep me high
Never let me go before
You teach me how to fly
Take me up, then keep me high
'Cause above the rain, above the clouds
It's always bright

Hurricane come again
Lift me up, forgive me Earth
I'm going away

Hurricane come again
Lift me up, forgive me Earth
I'm going away

Waiting for rain, awaiting sunrise
Paint the shade (lying down)
Waiting for the storm for so long, alone

Take me up, then keep me high
Never let me go before
You teach me how to fly
Take me up, then keep me high
'Cause above the rain, above the clouds
It's always bright

Hurricane come again
Lift me up, forgive me Earth
I'm going away

Hurricane come again

Lift me up, forgive me Earth
I'm going away

Overall Meaning

In Qing Feng Wu’s song “Storm,” the lyrics speak to the experience of weathering a storm, both literal and metaphorical, with the support of another person. The opening lines introduce uncertainty and a sense of deja vu: “Have I seen you somewhere? Heard a wind calling names.” The singer is waiting for someone, perhaps for the storm to pass or for resolution to arrive. As they wait, they hear both the howling wind and the rain chanting pain.

The chorus introduces an emotional plea: “Take me up, then keep me high / Never let me go before / You teach me how to fly.” The singer longs to be lifted up and supported, to be taught how to fly above the storm. It’s a message of hopefulness and trust, and it’s repeated throughout the song.

The lines “Hurricane come again / Lift me up, forgive me Earth / I'm going away” suggest that the storm is both perilous and an opportunity for transformation. By “going away” the singer may be leaving the storm behind, or they may be transforming themselves. Overall, the message is one of hope and trust in the face of adversity.

Since the day "STORM" was launched, the single has been looped many times.
I thought that today's MV is only shocking at most, and I didn't expect that I would cry.

I probably really like the Nordic forests that are full of frost and snow, withered and full of vitality.
Or maybe life is too bad recently, there are dark clouds, and the future seems to be walking in a foggy forest,
not knowing where to go.

Every time I hear the part of "It took some time" sung by AURORA,
I feel that how can there be such a beautiful melody and voice in the world, and I am so lucky to hear such a voice in my lifetime. I am in the dark, so a little bit of light is very bright, very dazzling, thank you for being my light🌟

@CrumbisBumbis

love that there's a version with him singing in his native language, honestly would have been amazing if Aurora did a verse in Norwegian as well, the most angelic triple threat

@estebanod

Threat?

@SW-de3nb

@@estebanod Triple threat is a phrase describing someone who's skilled in three different things. The number isn't so important. It just means that it covers a lot.

@thomasswift3563

Aurora hasstated that she doesnt like singing in Norwegian as it's too peronnal

@Adrian_Marmy

oh yes I would love to hear her sing in Norwegian in general... I think I have never. There are few interviews but I think I haven't found a song in Norwegian yet.

@Adrian_Marmy

@@thomasswift3563 ah now that you're mentioning it I've seen this.... yeah, she said that's why it's easier for her in English... too bad... 🙂
