1. Quo Vadis is a technical melodic death metal band from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Their latest offering, the 2005 triple DVD entitled Defiant Indoctrination is a concert performed and recorded in their home town on May 7, 2005. It features spectacular visuals and theatricals. At the show, they performed every song from their latest album, Defiant Imagination, as well as various tracks from their other albums. In addition, the third disc is the entire drum footage of the show, focusing entirely on drummer Yanic Bercier. Special attention has been given to sound, the mix being handled by Jean-Francois Dagenais (Kataklysm, Misery Index). A star-studded lineup of guest musicians is presented, such as famous Quebec cellist Claude Lamothe, Alex Auburn of Cryptopsy fame, bassist Forrest of Augury/Atheretic/Negativa, and a classical choir and violinist to top it off.
On 6 September 2008, Quo Vadis played a concert at The Medley in Montreal, at which Stéphane Paré confirmed that he and Yanic would be leaving the band. Since then, Bart Frydrychowicz has recruited Patrice Hamelin (of Martyr) as drummer, Trevor Birnie (of Damascus) as vocalist and Roxanne Constantin (of Negativa) as Bassist. A rough mix of a new track, "Equilibrium," was released on the band's Myspace page on 25 October 2008.
Since then, Bart has confirmed that work is under way on a new Quo Vadis album, expected to be released in early 2009 and accompanied by a tour.

Vital Signs
Quo Vadis Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Feelings of death in the air, darkness
Falls on the world below it, tied to stakes
Embedded in life, mind insane
Screams of the dead fill the night
Unperceptive scan reveals holes in
your thoughts
Vital signs...
One more day of
Life doesn't make any sense, confusion
Things that made me whole, ripped to shreds
Spread for all to examine
A map of my dreams, a road to my soul
Feel the body of hate, conceptualize the pain
That built their strength
Wrapped in skin of those before them
Withering, complete their sin
The lyrics of "Vital Signs" by Quo Vadis portray a world ridden with hopelessness, despair, and pain. The opening lines "Ceremonial Bondage, life is forfeit" suggest a sense of helplessness and resignation towards life. The perceived feelings of death in the atmosphere contribute to the pervasive darkness that engulfs the world. The image of people "tied to stakes" further reinforces the theme of bondage and imprisonment, both physical and mental. The idea of the mind being "insane" suggests that even the thought processes are not exempt from the torment.
The second verse depicts a world consumed by despair – "Screams of the dead fill the night". It suggests that the idea of death is already present, regardless of whether one is living or dead. The next line "Unperceptive scan reveals holes in your thoughts" appears to indicate a sense of confusion and lack of clarity. It hints at the cracks that lie beneath the surface, which need to be examined. The chorus, "Vital signs... One more day of life", highlights the struggle for survival, even though it seems pointless.
Overall, "Vital Signs" presents a bleak portrayal of life, where the hope for the future lies in simply surviving one more day.
