Thrash metal/visual kei band "R.A.I.D" formed in 1999 and disbanded in October 2000. The members had a one-day revival in 2009. They are mainly known for being aika's (WERKMARE vocalist) first band. They released a demo-tape, "DAMAGE", and participated on a V.A. album.

The Raid is about the martial arts (in the action context). Michael Bay does Explosion Arts (Kaboom-Fu). He's exceptional at Kaboom-Fu. So we'll get a version of The Raid with Kaboom-Fu instead of incredible martial arts. Could still be a good action film, but it isn't gonna be The Raid.

Bay is an over the top director, who can make great movies just go see 13 hours. Amazing movie imo. Bay is a producer in this and if you go look at his producer credits one stands out in particular and that Black Sails. AMAZING show. Loved it. Basically I’m saying I think they can make a fun and exciting show. End of the day Hollywood is bankrupt in the original idea department so of course they will reboot something that was successful.

The only way this would've worked, is if they had gotten the John Wick creators to do it. Those guys know how to direct action and martial arts legitimately . It's a shame they got Bay to produce it instead...But I did enjoy the Russian Raid, it's a pretty solid action flick.

The reason it's on Netflix is as follows. The same actors that starred in the original... created "The Night Comes For Us" exclusively for Netflix. It's been named the greatest martial arts movie ever made by everyone that's ever reviewed it. Netflix is just trying to follow it up. They should have had the original crew continue to create new content instead.

Michael Bay has done action films for sure. Yet martial arts action, is a completely different thing. Even in the director doing, the hit man's wife's bodyguard and expendables 3, the action in those films, is still completely different, than a martial arts film, kind of action. Most definitely concerning.

Gareth Evans is probably what James Cameron was for the last movie. They'll get his name and kind of blessing but probably close to zero actual input.
The only property I remember where the original creators aren't on board in same capacity (even if it's in name only) is Netflix' Avatar (last airbender) remake/adaptation. That's going to be a massive sh** show...

We already have a Raid remake, and it's Dredd. But damn any attempt to remake this film, the greatest martial arts movie in history imo is dead on arrival. If you must watch a dubbed movie The Raid does a pretty good job. Just buy the original. But I will say Extraction was a pretty damn movie and honestly too good for Netflix. I'm not on board but who knows?

Going off on a tangent, this was, basically, the original premise of Bruce lee's Unfinished film "Game Of Death". i.e. a hero making his way up a number of floors to some goal at the top of a tower.
"Game of Death" ended up being film about a famous actor faking his own death to go after the head of crime syndicate who are harassing him. Using body doubles and strange trick photography to build a story around a handful of fight scenes Bruce Lee finished filming before his death in 1973 and then released in 1979.

Great T-Shirt. I've actually grew up driving Datsuns and owned a Datsun. At fourteen, back in the early 80s, I learned to drive a manual transmission at fourteen and used to run around country roads with them. Great fun but they were not the best cars for many reasons. Datsun love here.

There's literally nobody in the states that is qualified to perform the action and choreography required for this title. Going to be horrible fight scenes with lots of cuts and behind the head obvious stunt double takes. When will executives lear people don’t want unnecessary remakes/reboots. The Thing and Scarface are exceptions to that. But I just wonder how many scripts that are new and different have been shelved for decades because the exes don’t want to take risks
