Feel
Rachael Lampa Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

What would you say if I told you
About a love too good to be real?
Would you reply that
You've heard it a million times?

Oh, you throw up your hands never understand
Turn and walk away, cry another tear
I know where you're coming from
I was searchin' for the road that would lead me home

Where I'm free
Free to believe what is real to me
Free, free to believe that He lives in me
La la la, la la la, free

How would you feel if love fell in your arms
With the tenderness of a child?
Would you be able to finally
Open your eyes?

A love so strong, it never begs, never borrows
Never steals from anyone
Even if I bend, even if I sway, even if I lose my way
I will always come home

Where I'm free
Free to believe what is real to me
Free, free to believe that He lives in me
La la la, la la la
La la la, la

Free to love, free to dance
Free to live your life with open hands
That reach for the way closer to the edge
You hear the music play awakin'
All that once was slumberin's alive again

'Cause I'm free
Free to believe what is real to me
Free, free to believe that He lives in me
La la la, la la la

Free
Free to believe what is real to me
Free, free to believe that He lives in me
Free, yeah
La la la, la la la, la

Even if I bet, even if I swear
Even if I lose, yeah

Overall Meaning

The song 'Feel' by Rachael Lampa is a beautiful tribute to the unconditional love and freedom that can be found in believing in oneself and in a higher power. In the first verse, Lampa asks what others would say if she spoke about a love that seems too good to be true. She acknowledges that many people may have given up on the idea of true love, or may have been hurt by it in the past, but she encourages them to keep searching for a love that is authentic and genuine. In the chorus, Lampa sings about the freedom that comes from believing in something greater than oneself - whether it be a person, a spiritual force, or simply a sense of purpose.

The second verse of 'Feel' is a continuation of the first, with Lampa asking listeners how they would feel if they were to be loved with the tenderness of a child. She notes that this kind of love is powerful, but is never coercive or selfish. The bridge of the song is perhaps the most uplifting, as Lampa sings about being free to love, dance, and live life with open hands. She encourages others to embrace the joy and excitement of being alive, and to remain open and awake to the world around them.

Overall, 'Feel' is a powerful assertion of the beauty of believing in oneself and in a greater purpose. The music is uplifting and joyful, with fast-paced percussion and a catchy melody that encourages listeners to sing along. The lyrics are optimistic and full of hope, which makes it an excellent song for anyone who may be struggling to find their way in life.

Let me take a second just to breathe
Find a place just for me
Where the silence washes over
Where I see the horizon
Close my eyes it's like I'm flying
That's where it all makes sense to me
I don't need for you to try to fix the world this time
I just want your heart to break every time I cry
Stop the music don't say a word
'Cause what I need right now is something real
I just need to feel, feel, feel...
Maybe I just need to go through the rain
Try to understand the pain
Then I'll fall into your arms again
You always try to save me
This time it's not what I need
I'm not afraid to do this on my own
Cause I don't need for you to try to fix the world this time
I just want your heart to break every time I cry
Stop the music don't say a word
'Cause what I need right now is something real
I just need to feel, feel, feel...
[x2]
I need to feel, feel, feel...

I remember when Rachael, Stacie Orrico and Jaci Valasquez all came out in the late 90's early 2000's. Blessed me many times through their music.

If you don't have her previous music, make sure you get her third album. "The Art" is the best song on the album, though so many are good. "You Never Know" and "When I Fall" are also awesome.

I love this song. The change of what she is asking god for .instead of asking him to change it all she's asking for him to feel her pain and then decide if he wants to or not... Wow
