How Does It Feel?
Radford Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Feelings I need, they don't matter
You're just a breath away from me
Seeing we play, doesn't change things
Still the crime scene, we made

I've got angels crashing over my head
They're crying for the things you've said
So, how does it feel to feel?
So, how does it feel to feel?

City we breathe isn't changing
We're just a step away from home
Laughter we need, doesn't matter
If you don't find yourself leading your own

I've got angels crashing over my head
They're crying for the things you've said
So how does it feel to feel?
How does it feel to feel?

'Cause I don't wanna come down
I know it?s probably too late to fade
Don't you want to give in? This time it's okay

To feel, to feel, to feel, to feel
Na na na, na na na, na na na
Na na na na, to feel, to feel

I've got angels crashing over my head

They keep crying for the things you've said
Now, that you're gone

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Radford's song "How Does it Feel" convey a sense of desperation and confusion in a relationship that appears to be falling apart. The singer of the song is seeking a connection with their partner, but the feelings they express are being dismissed. The first stanza sets the tone for the rest of the song by articulating the frustration and desire that the singer is experiencing despite their partner's indifference. The lines "Feelings I need, they don't matter / You're just a breath away from me / Seeing we play, doesn't change things / Still the crime scene, we made" highlight the tension between the two and the damage that's already been done.

The subsequent stanza expresses more despair as the singer describes angels crashing in their head and crying out for the hurt caused by their lover. The chorus provides a strong refrain that drives home the emotional complexity of the situation as the singer grapples with the shattered expectations and insecurities that come with a disintegrating relationship. The final stanza suggests that the relationship has ended and the singer is left alone to contemplate what happened.

Overall, the song is a poignant reflection on the bitter aftermath of a romantic relationship. The lyrics reveal the struggle of parsing through the confusion of feelings, and the confusion that comes with trying to reconcile the passion and pain of a difficult situation.

Takes me back to a simpler time when I didn't have a care in the world. It reminds me of my later childhood years in the early 2000's and it even reminds me of the 1990's. The self-titled record is extremely rare and hard to get hold of, but luckily I have my own copy of the CD! It is now the anthem to my final year of college :,) Long live good music!

This takes me back. I can see 18yrs ago like it just happened. For the good times & the bad. I thought I knew it all. I had it all & than I lost myself when I found heroin. Clean 6yrs now. Glad I've found a few songs from that album. Wish i knew where my copy was or how to get another.
