Too many emotions
Yeah
Hey, hey, yeah
I feel too many emotions (emotions)
I feel too many emotions (emotions)
They always misunderstand me (misunderstand me)
Sometimes I wanna leave this planet (planet)
Sometimes I wanna leave this planet (this planet)
Energy shift
Said you wouldn't change, but you changed so quick (quick)
This shit insane, I'm just raisin' awareness (yup)
I'm a different kind of creature, you better beware of him
Ain't no bringin' back that boy, because he gone, gone
Not for the weak hearted, 'cause this right here that strong, strong
It's startin' to feel like I'm surrounded by a bunch of clones
Told that, told that bitch just leave me 'lone ('lone, 'lone)
Aviator Cartiers, I can't see nobody in the party, yeah (party, yeah)
Shawty been on my body like a cardigan (cardigan)
Conversations in my head, no, not again, no, not again
It's one big misunderstandin' ('standin')
But why the fuck you tryna slander? (Slander)
I lost some motherfucking family (family)
It's more crazy then I ever could've planned it (imagine, yeah)
I feel too many emotions (emotions)
I feel a million emotions (emotions)
Wish I could make the pain vanish (vanish, yeah)
They always misunderstand me (misunderstand me)
Sometimes I wanna leave this planet (this planet)
Them voices in my head, they keep on on sayin' that (I'm sayin' that)
And I feel my stars alignin'
But I'm still havin' trouble decidin'
It's like nobody understands me
Late nights when the liquor comes in handy
Hey, you wouldn't believe what I been plannin'
My demons talkin', they just wanna see me crashin'
I can't feel my heart beatin' in my chest
Call the cardiologist
I wanna tell you how I feel, but I know it won't make sense
Turnin' to the drugs like a therapist
'Cause I feel so lonely, sometimes I mute my emotions
I feel too many emotions (emotions)
I feel too many emotions (emotions)
Wish I could make the pain vanish (vanish)
They always misunderstand me (misunderstand me)
Sometimes I wanna leave this planet (planet)
Sometimes I wanna leave this planet (this planet)
I feel too many emotions (emotions)
I feel a million emotions (emotions)
Wish I could make the pain vanish (vanish, yeah)
They always misunderstand me (misunderstand me)
Sometimes I wanna leave this planet (this planet)
Them voices in my head, they keep on on sayin' that (I'm sayin' that)
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh, yeah
In "ADHD Anthem" by Rae Sremmurd, the lyrics depict the artist expressing their overwhelming emotions and the struggles they face as a result. The opening line, "I feel too many emotions," sets the tone for the entire song, highlighting the intensity and complexity of the artist's feelings.
The artist wishes they could make their pain disappear and express frustration over being constantly misunderstood. They convey a sense of wanting to escape from these overwhelming emotions and the pressures of their environment, hence the desire to leave the planet. This sentiment is reinforced with the repetition of the phrase "sometimes I wanna leave this planet."
The lyrics also touch on the theme of change and the artist's awareness of it. They emphasize the rapidity of change and the difficulty in adapting to it, indicating that it can be disorienting and unsettling. The line "They always misunderstand me" suggests a sense of being isolated and not feeling genuinely understood by those around them.
The artist reflects on their unique identity and personality, describing themselves as a "different kind of creature." This suggests they perceive themselves as being vastly different from others, and they warn others to be cautious of this distinctiveness. There is a sense of being surrounded by individuals who lack authenticity, as indicated by the line "It's starting to feel like I'm surrounded by a bunch of clones."
The lyrics also delve into the artist's inner struggles, referencing conversations in their head, voices telling them something, and an inner battle with personal demons. They admit to feeling lonely and turning to substances as a means of coping with their emotions. The repetition of "I feel too many emotions" highlights the ongoing struggle they face.
Overall, "ADHD Anthem" explores themes of overwhelming emotions, the desire to be understood, the challenges of change, and the internal battles the artist experiences. It provides a glimpse into the artist's personal struggles and their longing to find solace amidst the chaos.

THIS. Now THIS is the best example of what modern music has to offer. Everything about the song is flames. The second half though, omg. I wanna cover this as a rock song. There are very few songs that can almost make me shed a tear.

Finally, a song that literally puts the feelings of ADHD and anxiety into lyrics, explaining everything we can't. Like many of you said, I sobbed the first time I heard this song. I spoke with a lot of people about this album, and many said they weren't feeling this song. I told them it was because they couldn't relate or understand it on a personal level, which is the exact reason I love it so much, the personal connection is unprecedented..
